Katy Perry: Firetruck Off!

The 2010 MTV Video Music Awards were on last night, and the whole event was pretty lame and uneventful.

However, Katy Perry stood out.. as per usual.

The singer, who is engaged to British comedian Russell Brand, showed up with her fiancée on her fingers, literally.

Katy flipped the bird to photographers so they could get a better look at her manicure. She also Tweeted a close up of her fancy nails.

I can't think of anything more romantic that having your boyfriend's face on your fingers... oh wait... yes I can!

The Huffington Post reports: "She showed off her manicure by giving the cameras an obscene gesture." Eh, it's not that obscene coming from Katy. She just gave them the finger, with love.

Russell is crazy and English, and Katy loves him to death despite the fact that he's 35, she's 25. It's a match made in heaven. I think this one is really going to last. (Yeah, right.)

But for now Katy is just flippin' off the cameras with her boyfriend on her fingers. To be honest, I'd rather see Katy giving the finger with her fiancee's face on it, than my mother doing it or something. She's still cute for some reason.

Other than that the show was almost unwatchable.

Justin Bieber performed a horrible lip synch that was so off that only his truest fans could forgive him.

Lady Gaga wore several crazy outfits... one of them was so heavy that she couldn't even get out of her seat without help and another one was made out of "meat." Gross. I think it would be more shocking if she showed up in a normal dress at this point.

Lindsay Lohan made her first TV appearance since getting out of the slammer... more awkward than entertaining.

So truly, the most exciting part of the evening was Katy Perry's finger nails.

As far as I'm concerned the VMAs can Firetruck Off!
