8 Movies I’d Like To See Remade With Muppets
I'm pretty sure by now you've seen the adorable and funny muppet movie parody trailers that have been released to promote the new movie. They've parodied everything from the The Green Lantern to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and even Paranormal Activity. One of my favorite things they did was when they took on Breaking Dawn in the final parody trailer and even released some hilarious posters to go along with it. Here's a look at Miss Piggy as Bella Swine:
I would totally see that Breaking Dawn, wouldn't you? All in all I would say they put together an awesome marketing campaign and I can only hope the movie lives up to the hype. Cause I love me some muppets! I mean, is there anything that's not improved upon with some muppet action? Why can't every movie be The Muppet Movie? Aren't we all sick of human actors at this point? Here's my list of some movies I'd like to see remade with muppets!
Hey, if George Lucas can mess with his masterpiece, why can't the rest of us? Having real-life lovaaaahs Miss Piggy and Kermit as Luke and Leia will just add to the creep factor when we find out that they're actually brother and sister. Too blasphemous? At the very least I'm pretty sure everyone would be on board with remaking Episodes 1-3 with muppets. Elmo as Anakin can't be any less convincing than Hayden Christensen was in the role.
Animal could totally do justice to the role of Tommy DeVito, played by Joe Pesci in the original movie. Can't you just picture him psychopathically bludgeoning someone to death with his drum kit at the slightest hint of a perceived insult? RIP Big Bird. You should not have made that crack about Animal's snuffleupagus.
This movie has lots of memorable characters that could be perfectly filled by our beloved muppets. Kermit and Fozzie the Bear would make a great Vincent Vega and Jules Winnfield. Although all of the dialog that Samuel Jackson sold like a mofo may become unintentionally hilarious when said by Fozzie the Bear in a jeri curl wig. Actually, come to think of it…'And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee' would become even more sinister followed by 'Wocka Wocka Wocka'!
The Big Lebowski
You know Oscar would totally be convincing dropping f-bombs as 'The Dude' and I'm pretty sure no one in Muppetland would mind if he did a J… this dude definitely needs to mellow out! Sure it would be sad to see Ernie, as Donny, die of a heart attack, but it would all be worth it to see the scene where The Dude and Walter scatter Donny's ashes. Am I the only one who wants to see Bert say 'F*ck it, Dude! Let's go bowling!' I'll drink a White Russian to that!
The truth is that I just wanna see a Mike Tyson muppet. Everything is funnier with Mike Tyson. Even muppets. If I had one extra wish after getting everything else I wanted, I would use it to make Mike Tyson the next Will Ferrell.
If there's one thing Avenue Q showed me it's that I really enjoy muppets being naughty, and you don't get naughtier than Tony 'Scarface' Montana. Grover is a monster, so I wouldn't be surprised to find him super-bitter after rival monster Elmo invades his turf on Sesame Street. He's got a serious vendetta and inhaling a mountain of cocaine is only gonna make things worse. I'd pay cash money to see him perform the line, "Say hello to my little friend," before filling Elmo with holes. And Mr. Noodle, too. Gotta take Mr. Noodle out. Dumba** will never see it coming.
All work and no cookies make Cookie Monster a dull boy. Who better to play the alcoholic writer, Jack Torrance, than cookie addict, Cookie Monster?? I've always had the sense that he would go totally apesh*t on a kid the second he felt they were in cookie competition, so he would be totally believable as an off-the-deep-end father trying to murder his wife and child. Bonus: his naturally crazy googly eyes.
Yeah, yeah. I just want more Harry Potter movies, so I'll accept anything to make that happen. You can't tell me that Miss Piggy wouldn't make a spectacular Umbridge! I know… I need to learn to let go.
