Hoenn Confirmed: Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Announced!

By  |

The Book of Revelation, chapter 22 verse 13 reads “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.” Only today are we learning that that verse refers not to the Fury Of The Lord Our God, but to the just-announced Pokémon remakes, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Indeed, Pokémon, which has taught us so much about the nature of humanity, shall now be the vessel for our end. Behold, the video announcement for the alpha and the omega; the beginning and the end; the first and the last.

Coming for the Nintendo 2DS and 3DS, Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire promise to let players “explore a dramatic new world”. That could mean the remakes will be done in the new 3D-rendered engine introduced in last year’s Pokémon X and Y, or it could refer to a world where the pure have already Risen; where the miserable filth left on Earth shall suffer unknowable torment. Lo, they shall look upon the fires in the sky through their blood-soaked eyes and regret their evils, but it shall be for naught. Their fate was decided when the four great beasts came up out of the sea, each different from the other, as described in chapter 7 of the Book of Daniel:

“The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings. I watched till its wings were plucked off; and it was lifted up from the earth and made to stand on two feet like a man, and a man’s heart was given to it. And suddenly another beast, a second, like a bear. It was raised up on one side, and had three ribs in its mouth between its teeth. And they said thus to it: ‘Arise, devour much flesh!’ After this I looked, and there was another, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird. The beast also had four heads, and dominion was given to it. After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, Mudkip, a water type.”

Do not tremble, young one, for your suffering shall be at its end when Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are released this November.
