#Skinfor1D Is A Hoax – One Direction Doesn’t Want Your Sexy Selfies
What is #Skinfor1D? Supposedly #Skinfor1D is girls on twitter “showing skin” to support British boy band One Direction. BUT DON’T BE FOOLED. Even though #Skinfor1D is trending worldwide on twitter, it’s a damn hoax. A hoax!
NO ONE SHOULD BE PARTICIPATING IN #SKINFOR1D!
Liam, Zayn, Louis, Harry, and Niall don’t need to see your naked pictures to know you “support them” or whatever. #Skinfor1D is a prank by members of a certain notorious internet message board, and I don’t want to say the name of the site directly, but it sounds like 4Cham.org. They want to trick teens into sharing revealing pictures, and they are using dummy twitter accounts to upload pictures of girls (probably shared without their consent), to make it look like “lots” of people are doing it. Even if you do see a provocative photo, it’s probably just some picture that a girl sent to a dude she trusted. That dude then betrayed her and shared it with the world, and now some other dude is using that pic to pretend to be a girl who is willing to take off clothes to support One Direction. It’s a circle of douche!
Even though a online prank to get teen girls to expose themselves is scummy, as far as internet pranks go, this is incredibly successful. Most of the internet community and the 1D fandom thought the trend started organically from real One Direction Fans. They even tricked Liam Payne, who you might know for being in One Direction. He told the fans to cut it out.
Here is a sentence I never thought I would write: EVERYONE, LISTEN TO LIAM PAYNE.
Right now the hashtag is filled with snarky responses and jokes about the hashtag, so thankfully I think a lot of people have caught on.
There’s even a “#WearAsManyClothesAsYouCanAtOnceFor1D” counter trend, which is a lot less likely to embarrass you ten years for now.

So don’t show any skin for 1D, and as a general rule, don’t do anything stupid just because you like a boy band, no matter how handsome they are… BE SAFE.
