So, do people still believe that nu metal is rap mixed with metal that somehow equals System of a Down, Slipknot, and Korn?

My little brother some time ago said that he like nu metal (he's a hard rocker and doesn't plan in getting into real metal) but only likes Linkin Park a little bit. But then when I make him listen to the likes of Disturbed and Korn and such, he just goes 'omg turn it off'.
