I admire his stamina.
He basically moves his fingers at a frantic pace for 9 minutes. (23 notes per second or something) I mean, I would never call him talented or tell him he had any musical merit.

Err.
He's not talented. Anybody could learn how to do that. It's not something original or 'out there', it's just a skill. Skilled is what he is. People throw the world talented around like everybody has a talent. Their talents aren't their skills, their talents are what they do with their skills. They all just learn skills. Not to say it isn't impressive, but it's annoying when the two aren't derived. I play guitar as well, and I understand that jacking off your neck because you like the 8-bit sound it makes is impressive to those who have never played guitar or those who find sweep picking intimidating, but I would never consider this groundbreaking at all. A lot of bands use speed as a mechanism to enhance the music, not to seem amazing at their craft. This guy does it for show. He's skilled, but does nothing 'talentful' with his skills. Therefore, he has no musical direction or merit, and does not deserve my respect on any occasion.

He has dexterity.
I only consider musicians talented if their music actually, you know, sounds good.

This is whats wrong with guitar. Because of it, people who don't play guitar judge how good you are by how fast you can play, which is wrong.

Flight Of The Bumblebee is the perfect example of a song that is fast for a a reason. I mean, albeit I'm not impressed with his ability to play it THAT fast (the way he does at the end.) His version at the beginning is very spot on, though.
