Mercenaries Options

I've have always loved this game! It is amazing

I have it on the PS2!

The basic idea of it is you are a Mercenary who works for a company, ExOps and you are basically a for hire, and you can choose to work for the Mafia, North Koreans, South Koreans, Chinese, Allied Nations for a loads of different jobs. Each of these teams are at war with each other and there are some battles between them which seem to appear in the middle of nowhere which is really cool! There are a ton of vehicles which you can hijack, from helicopters to civilian cars. And a really cool feature is that you can buy stuff, like vehicles from the mafia!

Your tasks mainly consist of capturing the 'Deck Of 52', a Most Wanted list similar to those playing cards which were popular a while back that had Saddam Hussain on (i have a poster of that). You'll be given missions by each faction and these will often involve capturing one of these guys. Between missions, you can spend ages driving around carrying out cash based reward missions which often involve driving through checkpoints within the alloted time etc. It's great fun and you can use the cash to purchase upgrades in the store. All of this game is set in a vast place that is free roaming (WHICH IS WHAT I LOVE) and allows you to go off exploring on your own without really having to follow any set structure. Trust me, it's amazing what getting on the good side of the Russian Mafia will do for you.

I never played much of Mercenaries past the demo, but the sequel should be out sometime soon, and that looks promising.

I thought Mercenaries:Playground For Destruction Was awesome and the yeah the sequel does look good.

Buying the sequel, no question.

I bought the original for the Xbox, pretty good game, had some hype when it first came out.
