I'm not quite 18 yet (Dec. 30th, sugarlips) so I can't legally go get a tattoo without parental consent. But about 3 years ago, I got a homemade one. I was daring, dashing, and handsome, and I was going to prove it by putting ink in my skin. With a sewing needle. It's a crappy version of an "ankh". Forgive me for being so cliche, but I didn't know it was such a popular tattoo 3 years ago.



Anyways, that was stupid, because I got a wicked infection and I had to get my arm amputated at the elbow. Not really, but I hope that someone reading that was shocked. I never had any infections, but the sewing needle wasn't sterile or anything.

In a couple of months when I turn 18, I'm going to get it covered up with a Cactuar. I'm a big Final Fantasy fan (anything older than FFX, at least), and I wanted a video game-related tattoo that wasn't generic, and the Cactuar will cover the ankh quite nicely.



My tatt' is on my inner right elbow (in a tender spot, about an inch above the funny bone).

Does anyone else have a tattoo/ plan on getting one?

I'm going to get a custom tattoo. It will be about the size of my hand on my back below the neck and right shouldar. It's going to be a marijuana leaf, with the words "Land of the Free?" written in red, white and blue (American flag colors) around it. Making a bit of a statement, I suppose. But it's not anywhere that would always be visible; many jobs won't hire someone with a tattoo going down their arm or somewhere like that. I'm not getting it done for a while though. It's better to wait at least a year or two before making the final decision, because that tattoo will be there for the rest of your life.
