When talking in real life, I mean really deeply engaged with someone in the art of conversation, do you find that you always have a subject or topic, or do you ever ramble on about everyday things or get something ludicrous of your chest?
Because I've got to say, I am a little bit of both ;]
Now let's translate this to the internet.
Do you think that when discussing on the internet, or let's say a forum with no real alleigence to a subject matter, you should always have a subject to discuss? Freedom of speech anyone?
I would like a place to wind down and discuss everyday things that do not nessecarily require a thread, which will evenutally be closed by the internet County Mounty, the Flatfoot, the Fuzz, the Police. Why is our freedom of speech being policed?
After all, isn't a moderating simply this; keeping [subject] within reasonable or proper limits; not extreme, excessive, or intense.

A forum needs a little more structure than everyday life conversation.
Threads have titles for a reason, and there are separate forums for a reason. There's simply too much going on at once to not separate things. This is not like a two-person, or even 5-person conversation that just flows naturally. (That's how Smosh used to be.)
So please, do us a favor and deal with it. Nobody's impinging on your freedom of speech. This forum has rules, like any forum (more lenient than most), and we simply ask that you follow them.
And moderation is not just keeping things on topic and within resonable limits. It's also cleaning up the messes people make, whether intentional or not, and recently it's been clear that most of it is intentional. If that's the case, then you can expect mods to be more forceful.

Yes, I see what you are saying and I do agree that there needs to be a structure.
Threads do indeed have titles for a reason! Which is fabulous! It means we can see what the subject matter is!
Oh but you see, I think somone is impeding on freedom in speech in the corners of the internet, Smosh for example. We were able to discuss light subjects within a single thread, keep up the daily banter with little harm. Now it seems we are limited to moderator approved threads. Hardly free is it?

Yes, moderators clean up undesirables, pornography or explicit language, that is acceptable.

The closing of the random thread. Yes, that's quite the trespass on your freedom of speech. It was closed because it's a haven for spammers, people like GPaul who would like nothing more than to bring this site down, who would love to fill these pages with hundreds of goat.se and ogrish images.
Nobody touched your freedom of speech. This forum can either go to shit, by the way of spammers and their chorus of rooting idiots, or you can deal with the fact that threads are closed for a reason, whether you like it or not.

Sounds like bullshit to me.
Do we delete threads? Hell yes we do. But they're deleted because they fail. They do not follow the guidelines-- guidelines written by common sense that dictate, "Hmm, is this an appropriate thread that will have lively discussion?" Newcomers are constantly starting threads or polls that need to be deleted. This is moderating.

Ah you see, I feel that it is. The Random Thread was a thread designed and used for short debates on daily occurances and other matters that if placed in a thread thier own, would be deemed unruly to the Fuzz. It enabled us to exert our freedom of speech thus giving us a haven for short discussions and opinions.
You say it was closed because it was a haven for 'spammers'. Yet you are able to produce a name, why confiscate an important thread due to some members who are clearly in violation of the rules. After all, isn't your job to moderate the thread?

I'm not going to detail the reasons for why it was closed. That's an issue for the mods to decide.
You're free to complain all you want, but for now that thread is staying closed. It has nothing to do with punishing people who post in the thread who
do follow the rules, but unfortunately it's not as simple as you think, and you're going to have to deal with it for now.

As far as blocking hidden ip's go, that has to be done by Anthony.
Our problem with the current situation of smosh is that there are hypocrites everywhere. They say that they don't enjoy the way smosh has been lately. Then when Anthony starts to make changes, everyone revolts and spams without giving him a chance to finish what he's starting. If you want to better the forums, spamming clearly isn't the answer. It's incredible that 4 or more regular smosh members had to be banned today for spamming. Everyone wants the spam to stop, but when Anthony appoints new mods smoshers themselves start spamming.

All I'm asking is that everyone give each one of us our fair shot. Don't group us together and say 'new modz sucks lol', give us each our own individual chance. I appreciate all who are being mature about this.

If he doesn't know you well, how could he trust you do the job? He was influenced in some way or form.
Because he knows what happens on his own site that he coded and built from the ground up? And because Kristin has never been anything but a respectable Smosh user who cares about the forum? Seems like a pretty good basis to me.

Obviously he watches people on the forum. If I had a warn log full of suspensions and whatnot, do you think I would have become a mod? No, of course not. I'm pretty sure he has seen most of my posts.
Rodro, I know. I corrected you. You were implying we got the modship because other mods influenced it upon Anthony. But he is the one who made the ultimate decision whether we deserve it or not.

Exactly. We've been talking about possible mods for a long time.
But the mods had
nothing to do with Anthony's decision. We simply discussed who we thought were deserving of it.
With that said, I support his decision. The forum needs more mods, and people lashing out in jealousy, outrage, or whatever it be, is childish.

Ive just totally noticed something.. All of the old smoshers are all laid backed, fun-loving, good-ol' people that cheer up this place, while the newer smoshers are complete douches who bash people for the gayest reasons(fluer)

Fluer has been nothing but fair in his concerns. Don't complain about him when there are people like smosh-action. underoath, ngard, draken, and rodro spamming up the place as if that is supposed to fix something.

There's no such thing as old and new Smosh users, just Smosh users. In your opinion, I may be a douche bag but I haven't been bashing anyone.

This is ridiculous, new mods are great. Everyone needs to calm down, it’s just a forum own by Anthony so he’s the one to decide who will be a good mod or not. If your not grow up and take it like a man.

The main thing we looked at when deciding on a mod was whether or not we could trust them with their mod powers. Frankly we can't afford to have people who may recklessly change stuff on the site (i.e. profile information, signatures, forum titles) just for lulz for them and their friends.
There's alot of other great users on this site we would love to make mods but their connections with other people on here would probably push them to do something for themselves or their friends.
Kristin, Mt. Mega and Leepay are all great people that are mature in their actions. If you disagree, I am sorry you feel that way.
And with that said, we would like for all of the people who were suspended to come back and participate in the forum activities once their suspensions are up...which is in a day or two for most of you.

too many people put random things in threads, interrupting the natural flow of the forums.
