I've noticed this forum has been unorganized for too long. There are so many threads being made, pointless things posted, and poor support given. So, I have been given permission to create basic guidelines for this forum. These guidelines are dedicated to supplying and requesting support. This is made for this because it may not be noticeable if you don't come here often, but this forum accumulates a generous amount of spam while our fellow members are asking and answering questions.
Providing Support
It's always appreciated to have members help others, but please read the following terms to see how you can keep this forum cleaner, more qualitative, and a better resource for Website Design, Flash & Software Talk for our fellow members.
1. If you are going to help someone out, please post a quality answer. If you tell them to "Google it", it's not much help to them because odds are they have already tried. They ask because they are stuck and would like some more help. Supply some useful links or tips. Don't point them back to a search engine.
2. If you don't know the answer to the question(s) a member is asking, do NOT post. It's considered spam.
3. If you see that somebody has posted an answer to the question asked, do NOT post the answer in your own words. The only time this should happen is when the answer is not clear and/or the member who asked the question is not clear on the answer. It's pretty much a duplicate post.
4. Don't make fun of any members or "flame" them because they may or may not know something. We all start somewhere, so help them out!
Requesting Support
It's no problem if you have a question you would like to receive help with, but please read the following terms to see how you can keep this forum cleaner, more qualitative, and a better resource for Website Design, Flash & Software Talk for our fellow members.
1. Don't hesitate to ask a question. The members here would be more than glad to help you out. But you can help them out by being as descriptive as possible. It's difficult for someone to answer a question when it is something such as "How do you use photoshop?". It's far to general and open to be answered properly. Try to ask a question such as "How do I use 'this function' when I am trying to edit a picture in photoshop?" It really narrows it down, and helps the member supplying your answer give the best answer they can, and helps you understand the content to your potential from their in depth response. It's a win-win situation.
2. It's good to be descriptive, but as you should be posting anywhere, try to use proper spelling and grammar. It makes it easier and quicker for you and the member answering your question to act on the content.
3. If you have a question, please use the search function first to check if someone has already asked it. If they have, read the support given, and if you are not satisfied, post your question in that thread. Don't start a new one.
4 Please understand that the members helping you are taking their time to help you out, so try not to be demanding and/or rude. Give them time to answer, and if you don't understand something, ask until you understand the content. Don't get angry with the person helping you because you couldn't understand their answer.
