Ha it's ok. I guess I can just see it as practice for this week as I hadn't really done any drawing in a while. And I like the idea of having different themes, but I was wondering. For a lot of stuff I use watercolour pencils (you colour it in normally and then paint over it with water). Would that count for painting or drawing?

I won some watercolour pencils in some drawing contest when I was little.I never got the idea in them.

What´s the difference?

You draw with pencil and paint with paint with brushes

OK, now I have to decide on a favourite animal.

It'll be either a lion/tiger/leopard(whichever I feel like), a domestic cat, or a phoenix. (I used to draw phoenixes a lot when I was 10.)

Does it have to be a real animal? I see someone's already posted an extinct animal.

I'm working on the phoenix right now. I'm not used to drawing birds, though, so I keep messing up on the wings. I'm using a lot of references.

One wing down. Maybe the other will be easier. (it's not foreshortened)

Can I make two sizes of the same picture, the smaller one is in the limits and it can be used as a thumbnail and link to the larger image?

My picture is very horizontal and a bit detailed, so I have a feeling I need a thumbnail to link to a bigger image out of the limits.

Since this is the first week, some of the rules may change. Since this is an art contest, I may just drop the size rule. Many people don't have photoshop and can't resize scanned images.

Yeah, that will be fine. I think I'm going to ditch the rule. If anyone is against that, please comment/PM me.

This week is kinda like a test week to see if it works out. If it lives, we'll keep it pinned in the future.

A true artist would have no problem making something creative out of that theme... unfortunately for me I am not a true artist.

You've just gotta give it a couple of weeks to get going, that's all.

I have no idea how to host an image....i hate tyring new things........
