This is no different than all the other help request threads pinned in this forum. It may be helpful to see specific problems in topic titles for photoshop, computer, flash, and video editing help too, but we decided to use genre specific help threads instead of a thread for each individual issue. I don't see the difference.

As for your question, it gets complicated unless you tell us which forum you use. http://invisionize.com has scripts for invision board. You just run some PHP to get the users' cookie. If the cookie exists, then you display their user info or whatever. If the cookie doesn't exist, then the login form appears.

(Don't laugh) I use IPBFree in which I might upgrade to Invision, but I think it costs a lot of money.

Can't do it with IBPFree. Yeah, it costs money to upgrade.

You should look into phpBB it does lack some features of IPB, but It has many many 3rd party modifications that can fill in for the missing features.

Go to your public library. In my school library there are at least 5 books on it, I'm from the UK so they are called CSS A Level and stuff.

I think the best website books are by Elizabeth Castro. I learned CSS and HTML at like 12 with her book "HTML for the world wide web: 5th Edition" it includes HTML, CSS and strict XHTML.

Why whenever I try to slice this and I put it onto dreamweaver it looks fine but when I preview it in a browser the images are all scattered and how can I fix it?

First of all, are you slicing as you code? or just slicing the whole thing then trying to code it? The first one is much easier.

Also we can't really do anything if we cant see your code

Maybe have one of those IP trackers, or something like this (Map Loco), and make that person visit your page. It'll probably show the user's IP + location on the map.

The flash can was a site set up by me and frekle18 it was a flash portal site where users could upload their flash creations and comment and rate other peoples.
When we had the first eddition online it was doing well for a bit, then its started to die down, so me and some other people made a new layout improved the php and thats when the second edition was born, again users started coming for a bit then it died down again.
Recently i got a letter in the mail saying that the domain name needed renewing, but i could'nt be bothered to pay so i want a new name for the site.

So im going to spend a lot on the site now, i want it to be a success this time.

Ok first we need a name for the site
Before we can start making a new layout and stuff we need a name for the site, i dont like the flash can anymore, i kinda dont want a name with the world flash in it, thats why i like the name newgrounds, i was thinking about somthing to do with trash though becuase i liked the idea of a flash being trashed (much like a flash being blammed on newgrounds).

what do you mean by flash developer?

Well, you can get a WYSIWYG editor online (Adobe Dreamweaver, etc.), and it's fairly easy to make a website. When it's made, you can host it at Godaddy.com

Is it free?

by flash developer i mean, you would be part of the team, and you would create content such as:
- flash banners
- flash games and carttons (these would be like featured content that would be kind of like owned by the site, not just stuff people have uploads, newgrounds has stuff like tankmen)
- other flash stuff like that
