I'm not sure who this will affect (other than me and Gripster) but I think it's worth creating this thread to show how the RIAA is really coming down on file sharers. Recently, torrent-swapping site, Demonoid.com was shut down. If you were to go to the site now you would receive this message:

The CRIA threatened the company renting the servers to us, and because of this it is not possible to keep the site online. Sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your understanding.
This is another case of the FBI or the RIAA cracking down on the internet. For every step backwards we must take two steps forwards! Or some shit like that. You know. Revolution. And stuff.

When sites keep getting shut down, more will be made, It's like a never ending chain of torrent sites. I use mininova, isohunt, etc, and a lot of underground sites in which (I hope) won't get shut down any time soon. Why now all of a sudden are they cracking down? GIMME BACK MAH INTERNETZ!

Yep. Maor sites have been getting the axe since the loss of Supernova
But file sharing sites are like a parasite, the RIAA might crack down here and there, but in the long run, they're fucked.

I think there's a possibility they might come back. Not sure, I could be wrong. But one can hope.

On a side note, the copyright laws are different in sweden I believe, or some such place like that, and a lot of major torrent and other such 'illegal' material sites branch from there.

It's been up and down a lot recently. The past few days I've just been been getting a 404 error.
PS - No shit. But since I managed to only find one other person on Smosh who had a Demonoid password on here it's kinda hard to gauge the amount of Demonoid members here.

The Demonoid IRC channel says the tracker is still up and the site will be back soon.

Demoniod is a lot better at searching for torrents than Piratebay imo.

Agree'd.
Now I'm gonna have to wait even longer (usually Demonoid takes a day) to get the Season 3 Finale of IASIP. Damnation.

Because even they can understand how the RIAA is coming down harshly on everybody who gets in their way. Hopefully, they can appreciate the importance of Demonoid being shut down in the wake of other closings such as TV-Links, and Oink.
