So one week didn't appeal to everyone. Big deal. You act as though SOTW can never work again.

Not enough people entered, but I found the theme to be much more interesting than "flowers" or something like that. Our bad. I'm sure there will 60 more sig of the weeks that will be perfect for Jaguar, sophiebro and Kristan once again.

I certainly do not act that way. In fact, I'm confident that SOTW will continue for weeks and weeks, despite coming off its worst week in history.


Not enough people entered because the theme was horrible, and most everyone knew that it would fail. And it did fail, plain and simple.

Once again, this dispute is not about what's best for me, sophiebro, Kristan, NUBS, you, or anyone else; this is about what's best for SOTW. In a sigmaking sense, we shouldn't have a theme that only appeals to me, just as we shouldn't have allowed a theme that, for the most part, only appealed to NUBS. It would, and did last week, defeat the entire purpose of SOTW.

Photo manipulation is fun and can be very interesting. The only sotw I ever participated in was a photo manipulation. Didn't win, but still I liked it.

DrakeN appreciation is now an option!

So basically, the theme is... no theme. Anybody can do any picture of anything. GENIUS! How about you make an actual theme with set pictures, and then make one of the options a picture of DrakeN? then everybody is happy and you don't seem like such a stuck up signature nazi.

The theme is Free Range. They can use a DrakeN picture if they that desperately want to. That's not going against the theme.

See, the thing is, this SOTW is going to suck dick. Give them a real theme.

Why are you bitching at me? I didn't choose this theme. Hence the poll. Last SOTW sucked dick. There was a lack of participation because of the select group the theme pertained to. Half of the usual participants were not friends with Duran, let alone even fucking knowing who he was. SOTW is supposed to apply to the entire forum, not a select group of friends who want to dedicate a week of a forum competition to someone. Maybe in your book an appreciation week of your friend is a "theme," but not in mine. If you want to have SOTWs that apply to your friends, have them somewhere else. Because it's not fair to the rest of Smosh.

It was kind of catch 22 for me. Nobody really gives a shit about SOTW except the people who enter, which is usually a "select group." More people knew Duran, and I thought those entries would be interesting for other people who aren't photoshop nerds to see. Nobody really entered, but I had good intentions behind reopening it. I figure I have just as much of a right as you to start a SOTW thread, since the whole competition was originally started by Boxiom and now it somehow ended up with you.

The "select group" who enter the SOTW enter because they want to. SOTW is open to anyone. And of course you have as much as a right to start an entry thread. No one is in ultimate charge of the SOTW. Smosh is. With that being said, the themes have to be fair to the entire forum. Hence why I was also against the idea of having a "MS Paint only theme," because we do have Mac users on here. That's why I am now posting a theme poll every week, to make the theme choices a bit more fair. Even though EVERY theme I chose in the past came out of the suggestion thread or through PM suggestions.
