No body should have a full say in what the theme should be. And I didn't appreciate you editing the poll with a theme you and your friends wanted. You know last week was a complete failure. Why do all of you insist on dragging in your pointless themes? You can very well use any of Draken's pictures for this theme, so why are you complaining?

I'm complaining because I find it complete bullshit that you make a theme poll, and you don't even use the winning theme. What's the point of having a poll? I edited it in because you shouldn't be the only one who should get to decide what the themes should be.

Draken appreciation would be a funny theme, I'm not denying that. I'm arguing on behalf of the rest of smosh, who don't know who Draken is. I wouldn't expect someone who joined a week ago to know him. That's the problem here. The SOTW is a forum competition. Not a "friends of ______ competition."

Ok Kristin, everyone is taking in what you are saying; yet the fact of the matter is that this theme got more votes. This is possibly more so a case of your annoyance one of these themes from this 'clique' was favoured over the others you seen as more suiting to the contest. You know what, peopel may not know who draken is, but people might not have experience with photo manipulation or fashion either. I'll quote yourself in saying

This is a forum competition

And you know what? The forum voted for that theme, not one of the others.
Gripster2000
This forum would be nothing without the vent cliche. Without us, the forum would collapse into a black hole that would consume and destroy the world. Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light. What I mean is Old Testament shit... real Wrath-of-God-type stuff. Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies, rivers and seas boiling, 40 years of darkness, earthquakes, volcanos, the dead rising from the grave, human sacrifice, dogs and cats, living together... mass hysteria!"
JaGuAr3529
While SOTW ought not to be run by anyone in particular, it has become clear that some people are simply not fit to have their way.

Boxiom brought SOTW to Smosh. It was a solid idea that needed polishing, and Boxiom stood in the way of any change because of his strangle-hold over the competition. Just to quote myself because I don't feel like retyping it:
QUOTE(JaGuAr3529 @ Nov. 30, 2006. 05:49 AM)

Maybe I'm the only one who's bothered by the lack of organization in the SOTW threads, especially recently, but I decided to take this matter into my own hands. Crappy themes? SOTW starting in the middle of the week? Inconsistent deadlines throughout weeks? Not being allowed to discuss entries in the entry thread without being banned from SOTW? No more, I say.

I took charge of changing SOTW, but it was Smosh itself that provided input that led to the Official Format and Rules that now govern SOTW. Now whenever a change is needed, Smosh has the power to carry out that change. This wasn't possible under Boxiom's reign.

Things have run relatively smoothly the past 50 weeks...until now.

Now we have this small faction that intends to make SOTW something less about Smosh and something more about their own small faction. They got their way last week, despite the better judgment of the wiser, more experienced SOTW regulars who predicted they would fail, and lo and behold, their experiment was a disaster, ranking, by my estimation, as the worst week SOTW has ever seen.

To think that this same small faction, who aren't all that involved with SOTW to begin with, have the balls to ignore last week and suggest a nearly identical theme this week makes me think that their goal is not only to get their way, but to bring SOTW to its knees.

A line needs to be drawn.

If you must see it this way, then see it this way: you got your way last week, let us have our way this week.
mt_mega
You wanted your 'appreciation' theme with Duran, and you got it. You said yourselves that it was just 'for the lulz' and then things would go back to normal. Now you want Draken Appreciation. What about next week? Is this going to turn into Appreciation of the Week? This is ruining SOTW, which was going fine until last week.
xoxenglishbabexox
Gripster, that is completely untrue. I know for a fact most of us would post more if you guys didn't clique up the place.

Look in the Duran entry thread. I bet I can find you a few posts from usual participants complaining about the theme. You (not you specifically, those who are fighting for a draken theme) are all acting as if you ARE the forum and ONLY your opinion matters. Last week my legit entry thread was deleted and replaced by the Duran theme. Can you honestly say that was fair to the rest of the forum?

Last week, I could have sworn someone said "it's not like we want this every week, just give us this ONE week!" Or something along those lines.

Any legitimate theme will naturally favor some more than others. That's simply the way it goes.

You cannot possibly compare Photo Manipulation to Duran or DrakeN Appreciation in terms of how they limit sigmaking. Duran Appreciation got 9 entries, while I know Photo Manipulation has had more than 40 in the past.
Perfect Crime
Yes everything has returned to normal and the duran theme was for the lulz, fact of the matter is that this time something got the most votes and kristin completely dictated what would be our theme; so i ask: What is the point in a theme poll if Kristin will not accept a theme she does not deem worthy?

EDIT:
Goddamnit antwon, it got the most votes and that poll wa sa representation of the forums choice.
