Full Version: Starcraft: How much spare time can you have?

I just stumbled on that while looking for a good way to turn my train tickets into something potentially artistic (don't laugh, I already have an armada of X-wings made from Paris metro tickets).

IPB Image

For those who have not recognised, it is a representation in origami of all the units in Starcraft. Just how bored do you have to be?

(To the mods: since this has a direct link with starcraft, I thought it'd be the right category. However, if it isn't, feel free to move the topic)

You would have to be pretty fucking bored to make all of that. But that doesn't take away from how epic that is. smile.gif

There's worse, to be honest. The same guy released plans to make a zerg soldier, a hydralisk and a few other things, but...

I was mostly impressed by his origami mutalisk:

Us guys? Hey, I didn't do those origamis. However, I do have an armada of X-wings on my desk. When my tablet PC arrives on caturday (with an integrated webcam), I'll take a picture of my uni desk. It has a lot of monstrosities on it: X-wings, Y-wings, B-wings, X-wings made out of metro tickets, an open-air PC, a whole TOWER of failed origamis, and my notes on how to make my model of X-wing (yes, because I refined an already-made drawing to incorporate automatic wingfold and something more realistic to the wings).

Itīs art so I like it, but I would never spend my free time by doing origami about Starcraft =S

From that statement alone I can determine that you have never played Starcraft OR D&D.

Yeah, that was the first thing that I thought of. Not D&D... Which makes sense considering D&D started out as a pen and paper game.

Some people are not artistic by nature, and folding a train/metro ticket is not easy if you don't know what you want to do. Making an original thing with a square, big enough piece of paper is easy (I wish I had a digital camera to show you the X-wing I folded - without any model - out of my Special Relativity notes smile.gif); folding a 6 cm x 2 cm metro ticket IS NOT.

That is just epic.

i have like 200+ plastic bottle caps saved up in multiple plastic containers, i used to stack them and make things out of them. Ranging from a smiple pyramid to a medieval castle with rooms and staircases.

But htis jsut beats the crap out of my creativity

Ok. Not all units, then; on second thought, I can't see any battleships, valkyries or science vessels either... Nor one of those psionic "WTFPWNT!" protoss beasts, either.

But I love this one:

D'you want me to fraps you a game where I literally DESTROY a hard Protoss AI? Or when I DESTROY a protoss-playing player? tongue.gif
Although, as a terran, the easiest to destroy when further up in the game is the zerg. They're all organic units... it's barely a challenge.

As a side note, we could organize a massive StarCraft game sometime soon, for the hell of it. And I'll be hosting on my super-duper-uni connection smile.gif

Ha ha ha. You mean the initial "LET'S GO, NOOBCAKES!" zerg rush? I generally deal with it with 3 bunkers full of marines. and an aggro-target (generally a resource collector)
