It'd be unfair if he was allowed to compete as well.
There really isn't an easy solution to a situation like this.

...he does have an advantage that'll help with speed, and that seems pretty unfair to the other runners who have their full legs imo.
but then again, he probably worked hard to be that fast using prosthetic feet and to get into the olympics.
so i'm pretty much neutral in this case. :|

how is it unfair? this guy has a mechanical advantage over flesh and bones, his lower body has been created to be lighter than human legs. it's like facing terminator in any event. although i would like to see this guy dominate in the paralympics.

If he's not allowed in the Olympics because he's too fast, they're really not going to let him go the Paralympics.
Also, it's discrimination. He should sue.

The only reason he's faster is because he has a technological advantage.
The olympics celebrates natural human form. I'm sure there are traditionalists out there who would go batshit if they let this guy compete.

He's still pumping his hips and the top of his legs, the only reason he's so fast is because he's not wasting energy in his ankles and the muscles in his lower leg. But as far as I can tell the legs aren't giving any sort of technical advantage, they're not robot legs.
Anyway, if they're removable, maybe he should just put on some crappy ones and run in the Paralympics.

The spring coefficient in his prosthetic legs help to add thrust that wouldn't be achieved through normal skin and bone.
It's unfair.

They really should have every right to not allow him in. His legs aren't real legs, and so why should he be allowed to compete in a competition that basically tests human legs? 25% less energy used is a hell of an advantage if you ask me.

hey now, don't jump to any conclusions, what we know is that he can't compete in the olympics, not "anywhere". nothing was said about the paralympics, which are events actually
for the (physically) disabled, such as amputees. what the rules are for prosthetic limbs for amputees i have no idea, but this is where this man should have started.

It makes perfect sense why they wouldn't let him compete. He has an unfair advantage over everyone else. Say he wins gold. How would you be reacting then? You'd probably bitch about the fact that he had prosthetic limbs and doesn't really deserve the title. And you'd be right.
