You may include movies that Heath has starred in, such as 10 Things I Hate About You, The Patriot, Monster's Ball, A Knight's Tale, Brokeback Mountain and The Dark Knight.

I didn't vote for this theme, but it's easy to recognize the difference between Duran Appreciation and Heath Ledger Dedication. One is an inside joke on a message board, and the other is honoring the life of a internationally-known actor. One is limited to only a few people, and the other is open to anyone who's heard of Heath, which is most people. There are plenty of images online of Heath as well as the movies he's been in, so I would say that this is a legitimate theme, but I still think it's a bad idea because of all the inevitable negativity.

The usual suspects will argue against this theme as well, but for different reasons.

Twenty people voted for this theme, which is twice as many as any other theme in the poll, so I hope they come up with some good entries.

Just do a Brokeback Mountain theme.

I am against the poll system, because everyone can vote, even though they won't enter and most voters just vote for a theme because "cool" people voted for it.

Anyway, stop blaming everything on Kristin. She is not the boss of SOTW, but without her, there wouldn't be a SOTW. Or one that nobody would enter, because it is too messy.

Why does everyone have to act so immature about the theme? This was one of the reasons SOTW wasn't around for a few weeks.

I've said same stuff when there were polemics about duran's sotw etc..

Regardless, there's a mature way to handle discrepancies like that.

Themes like this one were the reason sotw failed few weeks ago and only solution I can think of is; Kristan should hand over sotw to someone else or not to make any "one person dedication" themes and get rid of that dumb sotw poll thread.

I don't come up with any of the themes, Jay. The themes in the poll are all themes from the members. All I do is simply weed out the retarded/useless themes and add the legitimate themes to the poll. If the majority believed this theme was as bad as you make it seem, it would not have won the poll.

Taking away the poll makes this competition less fair, and does not allow as much member input when it comes to the theme choice.

The only reason this theme may result in a failure is because of the immaturity. If the entires for this theme were not centered around drugs and Brokeback Mountain parodies, this theme could have been very successful.
