My deal with myself was I wouldn't drink until I graduated from high school (and I would never do drugs or smoke). I followed through with this and never had a drop of alcohol (other than from church) until this past summer (the summer after I graduated). So yah, I started at 18.

I drank more when I was 8 than I do now.
A couple times when I was a kid we had tiny glasses of red wine with dinner, because it's good for you to have it occasionally.
And when I was 7 I had a shandy. Hardcore.

The first time I tried alcohol I was probably about 6 or something (isn't Britian great?) my parents would always let me have a sip of their drinks.
I've started drinking properly in the last year but i've never been really drunk. I don't like the idea of losing control in front of people. Saying that I have been known to get a bit tipsy on occasion.

OH, I should clarify- I first had alcohol when I was around 3 or 4. My dad thought it was cute to see me downing whiskey shots. I only starting DRINKING drinking when I was 14.

I'll second that. My mom/dad ALWAYS ask what Im spending the money on when I ask for it. Since Im a lightweight, i need around 5-8euro a week () to get properly fucked. And I don't drink EVERY week. So when I ask for money, I ask for just over what I actually need.
And if I forget, I skip lunch one day in school... haha.

Yes I gues I were about 13 the first time, me and my friends bougth alcohol (at that time you only had to be 15 to buy alcohol, so it was easy just to look like we were older and buy some (now you have to be 16))

In Denmark it's normal to drink "heavely" at least once a week from you are around 15. So were are kind of use to it
We've just gotten a swedish exchange student this summer, and in sweden you have to be 21 to buy vodka, tequila, and so (18 to buy beer), so she was terrified of our drinking habits wen she got here lol, it was so funny. The first 5 parties were she joined us, she ended up at the toilet vomiting because she had drinken to much. We all just laughted at her, and now she is allmost able to keep her body fluids inside
But the danish youth are allso in the top of those who drinks the most. we are number one in europe, I don't know were we are placed on a wold wide basic ? but that are not a thing to be proud of :/ that sucks, althought we have lots of fun in the weekends huhu
