Iv'e noticed a ton of people driving Scooters (gas and electric powered ones) in Atlanta and around town lately. I mean with the gas prices going up, it only seems reasonable. Most get up to 80MPG.
Does anybody drive a scooter? If so how is it, whats the engine size? (50cc, 100cc,150,etc).
I know with a 50cc engine you dont need a tag, you dont have to register it, and all you need is a
permit to drive it.
I was thinking about getting one. I mean I dont have my license yet..its going to be a while for that. And when I DO get my license, gas is still high as fuck. So I can alternate between the scooter and car.
Let me hear yo 2 piece on this

It does seem more sensible, yes.
But only going to school, or like the grocery store.

Tons of people in my town have them and they seem to like them. But my town is also very small so maybe thats why they seem so efficient compared to a huge city.

Hate them. Boyfriend wants one. I'm NEVER getting on the damn thing.
Cars are safer in my opinion. & better. Can get 4-5 people minimum in them, instad of 2 with a squeeze on a moped type thing. And shopping space in a car. Radio/CD/MP3. They're just better.
Moped's/scooters suck.

Canada's dollar is worth more at the moment as well.
And scooters would be great for shorter distances.

I'd only ride a scooter if I lived in a very close knit community, where everything is right around the corner.

I would get one if i lived in the city, they sound fun to drive.
However where i live you need something more like a dirtbike.

I own one, but only use it to go downtown to the trails for running. It is very convenient and uses less gas.

I would never in a million years consider driving a moped in our home town since I'd probably get hit by a car, but at the beach where our other house is the speed limit is only 25 MPH so it's probably a lot safer. Still, I'd just get a motorcycle and wear full protective gear (full gear would look pretty retarded on a moped). Cars have a lot of blind spots and you're likely to be crushed by some moron who isn't looking where he's going if you're on something small and inconspicuous in traffic.

No, the U.S. dollar is slightly ahead at the moment.
