Like most people here, Link was one of the first people I thought of, but then I realised that when you get down to it he's actually an incredibly boring one dimensional character with no dialogue and no particular backstory. He doesn't even have any real motivation, he basically just goes around doing what he's told because everyone says that it's his 'destiny' to do the things they're telling him to do.

Anyways I like cloud out of FF7 and Squall and Laguna out of FF8.

I thought it was really badass and then I saw that the voice actor was some old guy with a moustasche...

Master Chief is probably the worst character someone could have ever picked...

Care to explain why?

Well, he is a boring character. He tries to be this big ass hard man in a green suit when he basically just FAILS. He is in a game that is shit for a start so that doesn't give off the best impression to me. I just hate him, he tries to be epic at times when it just doesn't work. There is something about him that screams boring, repetitive, typical "bad ass" American shit creation.

Master Chief was deliberately made to be blank and faceless so that the player can put themself in the suit. I think he has an annoying badass attitude in Halo 1 and 2 but I find him a lot more likeble in Halo 3.

Yeah.....so basically you're choosing yourself as your favorite character....Halo was never about the characters. It was about boring campaigns with decent online play.

I would have to go with Link and Samus. Leon S. Kennedy from RE:4 is also pretty awesome because of his unrealistic superhuman reflexes and ability to be stabbed with a pitchfork repeatedly and survive. I want to be like him some day...
