I have a really big feeling that this thread is either gonna get closed or flamed to no end. Let's get started.

My question is, why are most top posters on Smosh so mean to new users? Haha I mean, seriously. How do you expect them to stay on this site if they make one mistake by posting a stupid thread and they get happily welcomed with, "Close this thread. You f***ing n00B!!1!". Isn't that just the most hospitable thing? : ].

This isn't just with the Smosh forums but in a lot of forums. Most of the users that do this are the ones who have been on the site for a long time or has thousands of posts. And I've noticed it's the same people all the time. And all I'm trying to ask is why is everyone posting so damn mean? Is it a self-esteem thing? Why can't everyone get along?
