Can anyone give me a good music downloading programme that won't wreck my new laptop?
Limewire was meh for my PC, is there any better?

I torrent my music, I download the whole album. Just download a torrenting program like uTorrent, then go to a torrent site (I use http://www.thepiratebay.org) You just type in what you want. They'll usually have the whole album/discography.

Google blog search. Seriously, you'll find every album you'd ever want.

Life is now complete.

You can download singles with torrents. And to download singles I use 4shared.com but I don't think you'll like it.

I use Ares, it's quite good but I could do with getting a more widespread one.

I used that for a few months too, has most music you are looking for on there.
But then I got caught and had to take everything off my laptop, bad times.

Bearshares frickin lethal. And limewire cost me 80 quid because it fucked up this twat of a laptop. Here's advice get up, go to the music store and buy the album. I hate downloading from shit like that.

frostwire does seem better than limewire, i've had no problems with it. i'd also recommend downloading soulseek, you can find almost anything on it. the only problem is is that it may take some time to actually have the song downloaded, depending on whether or not the user is online. And also use http://www.sordomusic.com/db/ to find full albums, awesome site.

I totally second that. It's like a direct rapidshare search engine.

totally, 90% of the time it's successful, other times it's just reviews of the album(s), which totally sucks. But still really useful.

Casey, for single song downloads you should use soulseek. I've been using it for years and have never gotten a single virus or slowed down my computer one bit. And it always finds what you're looking for. Sometimes downloads can take a while though. You have to learn the system. But I highly recommend it. I even download full albums from it. Of course, torrents are so much better.

I never landed on a review yet. That said, I only download when I'm really impatient and can't wait for the CD to be released (I buy all my music, eventually).

i agree with the first part, but I never use torrents, I always just download the .rar files from rapidshare, mediafire, etc. and it seems to go much faster.
