Personally, I'm freaked out. I'm watching CNN right now, and this Hurricane is just huge. Gas prices are going to go up like crazy, there's a speech going on by president Bush about "fleeing or dying", etc.

What caterogy is it a 3?

Right now it's a category 2, but it's expected to go up soon.

OH. But, I can't imgaine it will be as devestating as katrina.

And tons of tornados ALREADY. And I live in Virginia, so that's moderately far away, but it's on a coast. Pretty much, none of the United States are safe from natural disasters.

Everyone needs to just calm the fuck down. There have been plenty of more powerful storms in the past and there wasn't near as much panic as there is now. The only thing that this hurricane is doing is scaring people and driving gas prices through the fucking stratosphere. Gas jumped from $3.64 this morning to $4.59. Bullshit price gouging based on a false sense of urgency. Everything will be fine. Just chill.

it's different for people who are actually affected by it.

It's pretty big. And there have been mandatory evacuations for cities along the gulf coast.
