Not particularly.
They have to count all the votes too, which could take a while. Especially if it's a close race.
And then they'll talk about the winner for a while.
They don't "count the votes." Or at least they don't count the popular vote. The actual election is in December. Welcome to the world of the concept "
Electoral Colledge." Each state has an amount of electoral votes, plus the two senators from each state. That actually means that each vote count even more, because the electoral votes only have to win your state. Of course, everything is more complex than just that.
Study the
2000 election. Al gore won the popular vote, but Bush won the electoral vote. It was a close race. It all came down to Florida, too.
If you want, I'll give some good links to further learn of the Electoral College.

The commercials are pretty annoying, but I'm excited. It's my first time voting and I'm pretty pumped.
What pisses me off though is someone stole out Obama/Biden sign off our front lawn last night. Bastards.
Haha, any McCain/Palin signs in my area get their yards vandalized and/or their cars destroyed, while all the Obama/Biden signs stay up. It goes both ways. I live in Ohio near a campus area in C-bus. If you go in the rural farm area here in Ohio, there are more McCain signs than in the city. Overall, Ohio is pretty even when it comes to politics.
