I've been entertaining the idea of getting some ink done for a while, but everytime I express my interest someone will tell me that its not worth it and you should remain natural and 'wholesome'. I'm not one to typically care what other people think but when you hear it repeatably you start to wonder... I don't want to be automatically judged because of a tatt or regret it later on down the rode- which most people I talk to with tatts seem to do.


I'd like to hear some thoughts on the subject of tatts, tatts on chicks and people with tatts and if you prefer your significant other to have them, not have them, or you don't give a fuck either way.

I think only some people can pull of tattoos all over their body.
I also think that certain designs that everyone has can be really trashy.
And the placement of the tattoo makes a huge difference.

I think it's up to the person whether they get a tattoo or not, but just think about what you want to do in the future, and plan your tattoo around that.
If you want a job where a visible tattoo would be inappropriate, then just get it in a different spot.

I never really understood why placement should matter. I my self really wanted the 'tramp stamp' before I heard what people refered to it as. Apparently it's seen as a bulls eye or some stupid shit. I don't see why it looks trashy. It's in a spot that can be well hidden or shown off if you feel like it.

i think tattoos have become more mainstream, and more accepted. for example, i work at nordstrom. they used to allow NO tattoos and NO piercings. now they allow all non-offensive tattoos (so no alcoholic/racist insignia), and they technically allow nose piercings (although my lip piercing has been allowed).

i think that if done well, tattoos are awesome. also, this is assuming you know what you want, and are willing to live with it.

if i got one, it'd probably be easily hidable, and something of my own design. but that's just me.

it takes me like 2 years to convince myself that i truly want something on my for the rest of my life. took over 2 years before i got my lip pierced, and it's taken my 2 years to decide that i'd like to get my nape pierced (i got my lip done about 2 years ago).

annnnd the tattoo? it's been in my mind a while, but i'm still so unsure as to what i want (design-wise), that it will be a long while before anything is done about it.

well i have roses on my hips. just the outline. i plan on getting them colored in yellow. cuz that is a texas rose. and i was born there.

The guy I'm seeing is a tattoo artist, and everyone finds it oh-so amusing that I'm not tattooed at all yet he's attracted to me...it just depends on your personal opinion and what sort of style you go for. If I were you I'd go for something really personal and stylised, because even if it is the same as everyone else's then at least it would look individual. The mark of a good artist is the way they make the work look like their own.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you think you can pull it off then go for it. Just research your artist and your designs!
