Just curious how many other filmmakers are on here. If so what kind of filmmaking are you into? Do you wanna work on those big Hollywood films, or Indie, or just messing around making shorts? Did you go to school/what training do you have? Whats your favorite genre you like to shoot/favorite job (dirctor, camera, lights, etc). I like to network with other filmmakers so give me a shout

I'm currently attending Capilano Univserity in a program called Motion Picture Production, this is my second and last year. I've enjoyed going to school but instead of taking another year I hope to get out into the field and work. My goal is to become a props master or work in the art department somehow. I love working on silly little shorts with my friends as well as Indies. I'd also like to get a taste of a real 'Hollywood' set sometime. That's about it for me

I have a whoel notebook of ideas that I want to do but.... my camera can only hold 13 seconds of video, 2gb memory card =( I want to get atleast 35k views on a video on youtube before I hit 10th grade while I still look like a kid.

That's why you keep doing it, to get better and learn from your mistakes. Haha, my first 2 years of filmmaking I never made one good movie, but I learned something from each shoot.

I'm only in 8th grade, but I helped produce a small movie.

Oh yeah, is that like those little handy cams? Those can be pretty good, it sucks you only have a small memory card. Can you upgrade it at all? If you can I suggest maybe you save up for a camera that can record on minni DV tape, that way you get 60minutes out of each tape

Hmm. Well, I got a Samsung SCD71 used from someone local for about $100.00. So if you can find a used one you might be able to get it cheaper (just request that you can take a look and make sure everything is working). http://www.cellularfactory.com/img/phone_pics/19923.gif other than that I'm not really sure, most cameras I deal with are in the $2000-6000 range. But I'm sure you could get just like a good quality handy cam at The Future Shop or somewhere like that for a reasonable price.

The camera I use is pretty good, like it holds quite abit of memory. It's not really hi-tech, more like everyday use but it's still pretty good for the price, I think it was like £120 so that's like $60? I'm not sure.

I plan on pursuing a career in film making. I've been making internet videos for three or four years now and I think i'm finally starting to get the hang of it. It's lots of work but a ton of fun.

me and my friends have dabbled in making movies... none of them really ever come out very well... so we just do it for the lulz

Yeah, it'll come with practice. You just really have to study other videos and pretty much imitate them. There are also some good film making tip videos on youtube.

I write scripts. And i do act and I am working on filming. I like to write and direct more dramatic movies that I make with friends. I also like to write comedies. Making books into movies is fun. Me and my friends were going to do Twilight, so I wrote a movie script of New Moon and I'd have to say it is pretty good. Dramatic movies are my better ones, and I love to write. I also have to basically do everything when I write the scripts, because the production and everything has to be perfect. i'm currently looking for a high quality camera right now.

Besides this, though, I'm on commercials. And I was supposed to be the main character in a ABC version of Treasure Island, but I was too lazy to remember my lines.
