So people are starving and dying of AIDs in Africa because centuries of tradition won't allow them to 'deny their man' sexy time. So we've got all of these AIDs babies with no food that are going to die and never ACTUALLY live life to begin with.
So is it really just their fault?

one word, pretty strong word, i'd say.
condoms are important, yes. but so is consensual sex. i'd say it's more so.
aids-awareness is being raised massively in africa. condoms are cheap and easily bought.
however, there are still local wars going on, and women are often the victims of sexual violence, catching aids and having children.
and then there is his eminence the bloody-rightous pope, telling the people of africa that condoms are not the solution to the problem, and they are in fact part of the cause.

i may not be making sense, whatever, it's late. i'm just making some points.

honestly, i dont understand why no one can help these people. we have the ability to send a rocket to the moon, but we cant send a few cargo planes with food so people dont starve to death? seriously, how selfish can people get? we have so many obesse*spelling?* people in th U.S. yet we cant even send a mininumal about of food for any one else because we dont gain anything from it.

Here is what i think
We shoudl be trying to help them, but not in a traditional way. Donatign a dollar here or there to charity in a local collection box for organisations such as red cross dotn make a big difference, here is what they dont tell you. most of the dollar that you have donated acctually goes to the management fo the red cross, to payign salaries etc. so only a total or around 5 cents (correct that statistic if its wring, btu i believe its right) goes to the acctual people.
So the problem with us helping, is that it doesnt really help. if we really want to help we would be over there helping people ourselves.
But that isnt goign to happen is it XD

Africans are not particularly starving because of AIDS. And AIDS is not particularly an epidemic because of African traditional thinking.

HIV was found in Africa but it was spread all over the world as a result of non-protecting people everywhere. This way it became an epidemic.



There are a lot more starving people in Africa than people infected with HIV.
What could be their fault anyway? First non-African missionaries spread Christianity in Africa, then the Pope denies the effect of condoms so whose fault is it in the end?



What do condoms have to do with food?



Because we don't gain anything from it we're like caught in an evil cage - we can't do anything against it on a high level, it just doesn't fit in our system. If you go on thinking you'll rather be a starving African than an inactive member of a Western state with a bad consciousness.



That's what I think as well. Private aid packages don't help at all, it's quite the opposite: Even if a child gets your money or clothes there will be millions of other children who don't get anything. Selective help primarily breeds sadness and envy. Furthermore, with sending aid packages through organisations you automatically accept the supposedly naturally given destiny of Africans without actually challenging the situation.

And what have you done? All I see are people just bitching and whining, but nothing is getting done. You try to start your fundraisers so you can get OTHER people do do it for you. Lol I'm the only person who voted on the pretend option =P

There's only so much a person can do.
Obviously a government who can send a rocket to the moon or a bunch of people to a country to war over bullshit has a lot more money and power therefore should do something about poverty. Just think how much money the American government would be spending on the war in Iraq right now, all that money could be put to good use and save innocent lives but instead its killing people everyday.

I've also heard that a woman was envying this kid on tv who was in Africa (skinny as a twig) and she was like "I wish I had that body..."

Either it's true, or that presentation that I went to (about helping African children) was bullsh*t.

hmm everytime i've got the chance to help poor people i do it, i care abou the others, but how can a normal person help somebody living in another continent? making donations, i think. i do that too, because i like to help the others

We live we die thats enough said but i MUST GO ON.....im no professianal but it is said that over there, that it is against womens rights to protest against sex...so basically nothing can be done about the AIDS...as for food...natives across this world traveled for thousands of miles to hunt and to eat and to survive basically millions of years ago...so why cant they do that now you ask?!?! because our whole system is currupt and nothing can be done about it by just ONE person nor can it be prevented with MILLIONS of people so there is not a thing that can be done accept pitty the unfortunate...this is where the whole be thankfull everyday of your life that you didnt end up there and if you did...then i suggest moving if you get killed or die along the way...atleast he tried...it all starts with a thought then an action!!!
