omg your one of those idiots what your argument on why we shouldn't have it gov health care because honestly i know a lot of people who have died because of our current system of alloying private company's to drop coverage for no real reason
from what ive heard the plan doesn't remove the option of being screwed by private companies but just add an option for the people who wouldn't get accepted or cant afford it and the taxes for the plan are coming from the rich you know the people who can afford to lose some money but this comment was likely useless
either you are a hopeless individual with a case of confirmation bias or ur posting this just to spark an argument

Give me five legitimate and logical reasons to sign that petition.

Oh, and we would have the choice to keep our own heath care, rather than be forced to have a government plan.

What's wrong with our healthcare? Everybody getting free healthcare services? Rich people having as many rights as poor people?
How selfish and completely ignorant.

The horror stories about insurance company abuses cited by Obama in his press conference could be multiplied endlessly. It is no exaggeration to say that thousands die needless deaths every year and millions are condemned to suffering because the health care system is driven not by human needs, but by the profit interests of drug and medical equipment manufacturers, hospital chains and insurance companies.

It is precisely these corporate interests that are working in close collaboration with the White House and Congress to write the Obama health care plan, whose aim is precisely to deny tests, medicines, procedures and treatments to working class people and restructure the health care system more directly and openly along class lines. The outcome will be cut-rate, third-class care for the vast majority, while the affluent few will have access to the best care available.

I think it's a great idea to sign the petition (you have nothing to lose) and who knows what could happen.

I never understood why America doesn't have free healthcare anyway. Even if the NHS is somewhat rubbish.

The NHS saved my mom's life and my own...it's how it's run by our (british) candyty ass government that lets it down. If the NHS treated british people with life threatening diseases, who have been paying NI taxes for years, before they treated illegal immigrants who haven't paid a penny into the economy, then it would be flawless really. But our government can't spend much needed money on the healthcare service, because it's too busy sending out troops to fight in the middle east, when we shouldn't even be poking our noses into that business anyway.

If Obama can sort out priorities like that, then a free American Healthcare service is a fantastic idea.

Sorry, rant over lol =p

Canadians aren't the only ones with free health care.

I've always found it funny how many people are willing to deny the poor or unemployed (especially in this economy) the same rights and services that they receive. I mean, I just graduated college, and still have no idea how I'll come to afford healthcare next year when I can no longer be on my guardian's. I had a roommate who's dad owned his own electric engineering company, and of course she had fantastic healthcare; she also felt the government shouldn't provide any sort of healthcare option.

As I point out to people, our government is supposed to guarantee life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I consider "life" to encompass the right to health.
