its all pretty simple. everything is labeled for you on the mother board
buy:
motherboard
RAM
CPU
hard drive
diskdrive(s)
fans
case(with a power unit)
and depending on how much you play games, a graphics card.

open your current desktop computer open and take a look at how everything is. its pretty much universal for all. If the stuff they talk about in that link love1a1 posted, you can ask me in this thread.
