Simple, some people don't like smosh, they like nigahiga and fred better.

Fred has the Miley/JoBro crowd thanks to being on the teen choice awards and that kind of thing, I'm not totally sure about NigaHiga, I've only seen a few of his vids.

Plus, maybe Smosh isn't popular with the Miley/JoBro crowd since they swear and have violence in their videos and stuff. And they're a little bit older so maybe young teenagers don't relate to them as well. I don't know.

Partly because Nigahiga's How-to videos went viral on YouTube with millions of views and Fred got all managers, media persons and production companies back of him, giving him lots of opportunities like Zipid commercials, iCarly TV Guest starring, Hot Topic shirt sales, promotional events, etc.

Smosh is really professional film making duo and truly deserves #1.

No offense to gay people, but kids are gettin gay, dont get me wrong tho. If its supposed to happen I welcome it.

yea fred was good in the beginning before he did commericals and stuff but smosh and nigahiga are different in a way. i guess fred got kind of annoying after he went #1

i dunno... all i know but not sure of is that people that dont even watch fred subscribe to him. i guess its the whole management thing. i personally like nigahiga (and im not not asian)... i like them both a whole lot(smosh and nigahiga) but i stand on the smosh team. i would rather have nigahiga #1 on youtube instead of fred cuz nigahiga deserves it a lot more. i think someday smosh will be #1. fred is already slowly dieing out now that nigahiga is #1. its just a matter of time. im not sure if smosh can beat nigahiga tho. i think they deserve to be #1 more than anyone. either them or shanedawson cz i have to admit, shane is super talented n funny.

I agree that half of youtube updates on these teeniboppers more often that not, and its very true that smosh appeals to a much older crowd. Then the fact that smosh arent teenagers, these "men" are 21 and their sense of humor is different to most teenagers.

I think fred is getting more outside the internet exposure to kids and people who dont know who he is. Then whats the first thing you do when you see something you dont know? hit the interwebs.

I honestly don't see what the big deal is with FRED.
This may be because I am not his target audience..
Plus, he annoys the f*ck out of me.
But there is nothing creative about his videos, what so ever.

I think SMOSH are great. They've come along way from they're lip-sync videos.
And i love the fact that we've kind of like, been with them through that journey.
I mean, the videos they're pumping out at the moment are just tops. Like, T.V quality.

It does confuse me how they aren't #1 most subscribed...
Don't get me wrong, #3 is still an excellent spot.
But just look at their competition!

its probably that younger people go to youtube and watch fred repeatedly and are too young to see how good smosh is.

More people watch Fred because more kids go on YouTube and Smosh might be innopropriate for them. Also Fred sells merch in stores and he was also on ICarly. But you should be happy that Fred is no longer #1.

More people like Fred although I don't know why. I didn't know who he was until about a year ago, and I watched one of his vids. Turns out, I hated him. He's pretty retarded. Anywayz, Fred got famous when he hit iCarly and all that shizz. Smosh should be numba one but the reason they aren't is because the older crowd who would like Smosh's humor doesn't look at youtube, while the younger crowd populates youtube and quite frankly doesn't like Smosh.

Really it's just mouth of word that gets these people their subscribers. Fred got a huge amount because the 10-15 year olds would go around school quoting Fred and then that would draw curiosity to the other teeny-boppers to check him out and subscribe.

Although, if you'll notice Fred has been declining really fast. I remember when his videos got 1.5 million views in a day, and his newest video only has 750,000 views in 4 days. So, all the little kids are getting tired of him and sooner or later he'll be forgotten.

Nigahiga (In my opinion) has been really consistent with videos lately. I love the Movie-In-Minutes segment & the short-infomercial style videos he did. So, once again, word of mouth got people interested so they checked out his videos. Not to mention his ''How to be'' videos got him a huge amount of subscribers.

I really liked Smosh's older videos, but the only videos of Smosh that I have liked in the past year have been: If Movies Were Real, Sex Ed Rocks, Food Battle 2009, Ian's First Girlfriend, and Going to the Mountains. The other ones have been pretty meh. However, I have hope with their newest video If Movies Were Real. So, to answer your question; I think Smosh may be behind because they haven't made consistently good videos, but that could change soon. Mark my words!

nigahiga is up there b/c you can laugh with him or at him... he has the same fans as smosh, then a ton others that think asians talk funny and subscribe to kind of laugh at him/his voice, not his jokes.

and smosh is getting too old for this type of humor... they are just like my group (but far better), and people stopped watching us b/c its just not as funny to watch kids acting goofy when theyre seniors in college. They need to start heading towards a different style, but keep the immaturity

Fred has more subs because only kids watch that stuff. I see how Nigahiga is #1. Nigahiga is very funny, but Smosh is the best. Smosh should be atleast number 2 or 1. Smosh doesn't have many subs as them because its more for teens and 20+. I just hope one day Smosh will reach #1 again!

I like both, Smosh and Nigahiga, but Fred is total crap. For my opinion Smosh should be first, or at least second.

Truly more people would watch smosh on here than on youtube.

It would make the most sense.

Plus some extras/bloopers which most of us check out can only be found in this site, that would totally take away the chances of smosh getting viewed in youtube.
So for Smosh to be #1 in youtube, they should practically encourage everyone to watch their videos there.
