My buddy from work told me about this one and I rented it. Once I started playing it I returned my rented copy and bought one of my own. It's just that fun.
The object of this game is to move your character, Maxwell, across the screen and get stars (Starites) in each level. Maxwell has a magic notebook, that when written/typed in summons the object you wrote into the game world.
For example, typing "trampoline" puts the jump toy in the level, allowing Maxwell and anyone with him to jump to a higher area. Typing in "wetsuit" or "snorkel" allows Maxwell to swim underwater. Maxwell can also take out enemies that get in his way with terms like "assault rifle", "sub-machinegun", or "thermonuclear bomb" (try THAT one out for size!).
Almost anything you can think of (it's got to be PG-rated, no drugs, alcohol, or rated-R stuff allowed, so get your minds out of the gutter!) can be written into the game world to get Starites.
Bonus points are awarded for thinking out of the box to complete a level. For example, to get past a body of shark-infested water I typed in "Cthulu" and watched the famous Lovecraft monster go on a feeding frenzy. In another level where you have to give a stalled car a jump, I used a thunderstorm, a lightning rod, and a jumper cable to get the job done.
Also solving puzzles and situations in a non-violent way (I got a cow past a butcher in one level by trading him his butcher knife for a cute teddy bear) also scores you major bonus points.
This is a really fun game where the gameplay is pretty much limited only by your imagination. I suggest fellow DS users on the forum check it out.
