I haven't met a lot of people that even know what progressive metal is

PS: my personal favorite is dream theater

There are actually a lot of people who like prog. My favorites are Rush and Dream Theater, although I think King Crimson might be the best. In the Court of the Crimson King is perfect.

Dream Theater, Opeth, The Mars Volta, Pink Floyd and Rush are probably my top 5 progressive bands.

King Crimson is most certainly badass. Fripp's a cool guy. Red is going to be getting some decent play from me for a while now.

All the bands listed are great but why forgot about Queensrÿche, the pioneers of progressive metal?

I saw Fripp live solo 2 weeks ago. Soundscaping ftw. <3

I don't like it as much as I used to, but King Crimson would probably be at the top for me.
