i read this on my home town newspaper so i went to there webaite and look what this guy to a baby
The father of a greater Bluffton toddler has been charged with neglect after the boy was abandoned for about six hours March 1 in a second-story apartment, a Beaufort County sheriff's report states.
A neighbor discovered the year-old boy playing with a bottle of painkillers on the apartment's balcony and putting some of the pills into his mouth, the report states.
The neighbor said he couldn't find either the child's father or mother.
When investigators searched the dirty apartment, they found a large dog, a cigarette butt on the floor and a child's basketball hoop fastened to an open electrical breaker in the hallway, according to the report.
The boy had another pill bottle in his mouth when investigators saw him.
Henry James Hall, 26, was arrested and charged with one count each of unlawful neglect and theft of cable. He was released from the Beaufort County jail Tuesday after posting a $11,087 bond, the jail's online log states.
His 1-year-old son is in protective custody at the Department of Social Services, which is looking for a foster home for the boy.
According to the report, a baby sitter was watching the child at the apartment at The Estates at Westbury, 100 Kensington Blvd., on the night of Feb. 28 while his unmarried parents were at a local bar. The mother worked there and Hall was there drinking, the reports states.
Hall returned later that night to relieve the baby sitter. He told the Sheriff's Office he was highly intoxicated, according to the report. He also told deputies that he uses drugs.
When she got home from work, the mother and Hall began to argue. The Sheriff's Office was called to address the dispute.
The mother told investigators she and Hall argued again after deputies left and that Hall wouldn't let her leave with the boy, so she left him with Hall and went to a friend's home.
Hall told investigators he informed the mother he was walking to the store to get cigarettes and that he went to his other girlfriend's home, where he spent the night, according to the report.
The report states Hall had taken some painkillers before he left and that he forget to put them away. Nail clippers also were within reach of the child.
Deputies estimate the boy was left alone from 1 to 7 a.m. March 1.
Hall is scheduled to appear in court April 27. The child's mother was not charged.

That is awful!! People like that shouldnt be parents. Why would the mom not take the baby. She shouldnt have left the baby with the dad cause you should be taking care of a baby when you drunk. He just leaves the baby in the house and goes to his other girlfriends house. wow what a great father!!
Yeah i read a lot to.

"a child's basketball hoop fastened to an open electrical breaker in the hallway"
lol
Somehow this stands out as the most atrocious detail of the story.
I'm sure the kid will be fine.
It's better than all the fucking morons who leave their kids in the car while they shop for 6 hours in WalMart only to find their child deep-fried in the back seat.

What's sad is that I'm not even shocked at this shit anymore. Parents are parents, but they're people, so naturally there are those people who irresponsibly have children and go on to abuse and neglect them. Raising a child is probably an ineffably hard task, so idiots are obviously not going to do a good job. In fact, they're probably going to throw their newborn out of the window or they're going to club their boyfriend with it. It's in the papers all the time.
Negligent alcoholics with kids are an example as to why abortion should be completely legal.

That's why I wasn't so shocked by it. It was bad, but I expected it to be something far worse. Sadly things like that happen everyday.
