Vintage is second hand stuff that's expensive and worn out.
And if you're gunna go the whole hog you just look like a cheap version of Agyness Deyn.
Vintage is not a style.
It's a scene.

I don't go over the limit, and i never will

Infact i've not bought anything second hand YET
but i've bought stuff from a vintage shop.

People don't buy clothes in the 70s just to sell them on 30 years later.
Vintage items have been worn before.

Did them vintage store you went in only have one of each item?
If so then that generally means they're all second hand.

Well, i got it from Pop, which makes some of its own stuff, and they sell the skirts to Urban Outfitters.
They're the vintagey looking ones in there that you see, which are all patterned with a waist band with buttons.

So yeah it wasn't vintage what I bought.

UGH, I hate it when people wear band shirts and don't know what the band is, but they follow trends.
This one girl last week had a Dinosaur Jr. shirt on, and I started talking about them, and she was like, "what? I hate indie, or watever, it sucks. this is TECHNO".
And the next week she has a Genghis Tron shirt on. NO, GENGHIS TRON IS NOT FUCKING TECHNO.

Bickering over the internet.

There are thousands of people that have the traditional Ramones take on the Presidential seal (basically the Ramones logo) on their shirt, but don't even know the band/listen to them.

My brother and I saw a kid wearing one at a supermarket about a week ago, and started talking to him (since he didn't look the type). When we told him that they had "just released a new album a few weeks ago" he bought the story completely... clearly not knowing that Joey, Johnny, and Dee Dee were dead.

We told him to look it up online, and then left, laughing.

I have a ramones shirt. I don't listen to them and I don't wear it for people to go 'oh my God she likes Ramones? Awesome!' I wear it because it's a fucking nice shirt regardless.

While I'm on the thread, the whole political-savvy trend is driving me nuts. Just because you watch CNN/Fox/whatever does not make you the know-all.

With that, as well, are the people who go on and on about "Standing up for _______ cause" or "We gotta change." Instead of talking about it, being an arm-chair philosopher, get out there and do it.

This 'vintage' trend. When they're buying these 'vintage' clothes from Urban Outfitters.

I was referring to genuine vintage stores like Beyond Retro and Rokit.
I found it hilarious when there was 'vintage' bags in Oasis.
They were nice-ish, but it just didn't compute.

I only just read your post there now. But I think I know what you mean- if everyone wasnt wearing lace, brogues etc they'd find them hideous?
Speaking of brogues, where I live everyone wears patent faux leather brogues from new look. They look shit.

That trend really is annoying. Like they don't even know it's a charity or whatever it's for
catchem
People who follow trends just to "be a part of something".

It's the fucking worst excuse for an existence ever.
Find something you like, and like it. Don't broadcast it.
Stand up for something that means something to YOU, not because it means something to a dozen other people.

But yeah the whole band shirt thing needs to stop. Unless you know at least 5 of the bands songs and know the words to 3 of them, MINIMUM, don't even bother.
It'd be nice if they knew all the band members names, too.

I don't mind the peace and love thing so much unless it's all just for show. Like, if they can't actually practice what they preach, what's the point?
It's better than nukes and intolerance.

This whole Enivironmental trend.

I'm mean I'm all for saving the earth, but when giant companies latch onto it and start using environmentalism as a tool to make more money, like charging ridiculous prices for 'pro environmental' products...well, that just irks me.

this isn't a fashion trend, but the whole peace thing. everyone just puts peace signs everywhere because they think it's cool being a dirty hippie. same with the go green thing. they put that shit all over and wear those "recyle me" shirts and bags but don't do shit to help it. kinda like how the white people like to throw up the blood sign because it's cool. (i won't exclude myself from this)

i think most obama "supporters" just support him because it's trendy too. most celebrities were for him, so that filtered down through 1000000 of teens trying to be cool and different and to prove a point and change the world. really though, most didn't have a clue about any of the issues or anything. it was just the cool thing to do.

also, most people that live in NY are going to see notorious because they think since biggie's from the east coast they have to see it and think they're the shit, but they haven't heard one of his songs. it's pretty much the 50 cent movie which no one bothered to see, but this one's popular because he died and is from ny so everyone's going to see it.

YES, crocs suck and so do uggs
they are the stupidest shoes ever created!
And piercings for guys should stop. I went to the mall the other day with some of my friends and we saw this dude dressed in high heels, a plaid skirt, and a tight tank top on and his nipples were pierced and it was very disturbing.

Basically, idiocy should just stop.
But it's what makes the world go 'round and differentiates those with functioning brains and/or common sense.
