Schoolgirl sues after watching 'Brokeback'
A 12-year-old girl is suing her school for emotional distress after her teacher screened "Brokeback Mountain" in a classroom.
Jessica Turner and her grandparents Kenneth and LaVerne Richardson are seeking more than US$400,000 in damages against the Chicago Board of Education and others, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
The suit claims that Turner and her classmates at Ashburn Community Elementary School were forced to watch the film under the guidance of a substitute teacher and the approval of the principal.
Turner is currently in counselling for the alleged "distress" caused by watching Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal in steamy love scenes.
That is hilarious... I bet she's scarred for life now..

Last year, we had a sub show Open Water, where there is a full nude scene. She had no premission, and when the scene was on, she told us to close our eyes.

Stupid bitch girl. I had to watch Platoon. I cried and had nightmares after that movie. And read Hiroshima. Again, crying and nightmares. But she watches a movie-love scene and throws a tantrum, then gets the legal system in on it? I hope they release her name so I can beat her up and take her lunch money, all $400,000 of it.

i was forced to watch 1984 in class when i was 16 and was emotionally scarred for a long time. it was like naked ugly people walking around for the entire movie. that actualy IS really wrong to show a bunch of middle schoolers an R rated movie... wtf was the sub thinking??? pretty sure you need permission slips and all that kind of shit in school to show anything worse than PG's

I don't care how it affected the girl. What the hell kind of school would show Brokeback Mountain? What's the purpose of that?
What's wrong with The Incredibles?
Not that I have anything against BM....Iactually love that movie...but still. This whole story is stupid.

I give this girl a round of applause, any normal person would just close their eyes and go to sleep for the movie, but with hard work and determination, she will be able to earn herself over $400, 000. Lol, Broke back mountain...oh man, what a shitty movie. The funniest part about these two movies is that Heath ledger is the new joker for Batman and Jake Gyllenhaal is the New Spiderman for the next spiderman movie. So you'll half expect those two to get it on when their are dressed up as joker and Spiderman.

to a 12 year old it IS pretty racy. i mean think of the shock she'd be in when the girl from princess diaries sudden ripped her bra off? lol
i figure it's more her parents doing than anything... she might have hated the movie, but her parents obviously hired a lawyer and decided they'd get her some college tuition money out of this.
