ps, you can disable receiving updates in emails. Click "account" then "notifications" and then just check whatever you want (or uncheck things you don't want) updates on.

Its pretty much a mature Myspace. I actually think they came out at the same time. The reason why you probably haven't heard of it is because its usually more common for college students (It used to be only college students could join, but around September they made it public). You have A LOT more abilities then on Myspace.

Facebook was originally used for college and university students to keep up to date with their classes and to send in work I think. Then it gradually became just like myspace, hi5 etc etc
