Personally one of my favorite games. Visually stunning, very in depth, horribly nerdy (making it a total guilty pleasure) and technically, endless possibilities.

Use this topic to discuss the game for any of the three consoles, to compare to previous Elder Scrolls (or any other game in the genre), post hints, links, secrets, cool stuff, etc.

Okay you shut up. It's about Oblivion, not some distant game that we know virtually nothing about. I love Oblivion. I really enjoyed the arena fights, and the Dark Brotherhood/Black Hand quests. I loved the one with the party where you kill everyone.
captain jake sparrow
Make a chuck norris character, its fun.
Master NILE
OBLIVION is the best game ever created, right in front of Gears Of War.
YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAA BOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
spaedin
Gonna play it very soon. My friend made his very own class: Badass. Hahahaha
ima_confusedditz
I first played the Elder Scrolls after getting Morrowind for my brother for his birthday. I became hooked. Oblivion is awesome, and the series or whatever it is called is quite possibly my favorite game ever. The story lines are great, the graphics are awesome, and the characters are brilliant. I was never a RPG person before this game, but the fact that you have a choice of what to do with your character- following your own destiny-really just got me interested. Usually you have to stick to one story line to play a game, but you can do whatever you want with this game.......YEA!!! lol.
"Boxman"
Yeah it's a great game.I have it on PC.
toymachine531
Has anyone got the updates? (Shivering Isles, Vile Lair, Imperial Orrey, Mehrune's Razor, etc.) If so, what have you thought of them? Worth it?
Jonny626
I got all the expansions for ES4. I think that shivering isle is the must-have expansion, being able to go to a new area with strong monsters and being able to become mayor of the isle was badass. knights of the nine was alright, the good parts were the razor quest andknights of the nine quest. I thought the new buyable houses were rubbish and a waste of money and annoying to get to
nakah-nakuh-nac
i LOVE this game. everything about it is so original!
Jeffsticle
Oblivion is one of the best games ever. Actually #2. After Morrowind.

Oh and with Shivering Isles...the scenery is much better than in Oblivion and the dungeon-crawling experience is the best in any game ever. But there's only maybe 160 NPCs in the gaming world.
Sk84life
i have morrowind, but im yet to play oblivion
Delta0567
Oblivion is an amazing game. My friends want to make their own characters so i have all these guys i don't play as.
Atavan Halen
I love this game. I would love to have it as an MMORPG for Xbox Live. Maybe battles in the arena, yeah.. Blue team vs. Yellow team, player vs. player.. And then there's team battles. And other players can bet on you.. Yeah... Awesome.
Delta0567
Having a player vs player areana match and team matches would be a really bad idea. If you go in with all Glass armor and die you would have to find all of it again.
cappy001
i f***ing love oblivion!
people are so sad to the adoring fan lol but all the vids on youtube are hilarious!
Exsiss
This game is one of the major reasons I want to get an xbox 360, I loved Morrowind.
Shahar
Yeah really good game.. i play it on my PC.
and i have the Shiviring Isels smile.gif
Jeffsticle
Oh!!! Forgot to say! If you are on PC and playing this game, you ABSOLUTELY need this mod.

Believe me I know what I'm talking about I'm a hardcore TES-er.
toymachine531
Bump'd, because other people couldn't bother searching.

So, has anyone tried out the new Castle download? I was somewhat disappointed, but for a free download, I definitely don't regret it.
A Fatal Goodbye
I jugt got this game less then 2 weeks ago (Ps3).

I love it, and it's very easy to spend 4-5 hours on it at a time.

I have about 57 hours in, and have barely gotten into the main quest.
ChecOutThsKid
yea, its really good, ive rented it before, should make another
tetris
I hate you Ian, you have 1250/1250, I have 540/1250 achievements. ahaha wink.gif
Zonda
^^ Hahaha, you have no idea, I got 1250 score a LONG time ago.
I'm working on my 4th person to level 50.
Sock_Puppet

I don't play often. I'm stuck on some thieves guild shit. It's that one where you gotta steal 50 dollars worth of items. I can't do it for some reason.
A Fatal Goodbye
I'm hoping the next Elder Scrolls doesn't have as many glitches.
lastfornever
I honestly think it's a horrible game.
if you compare the content in this game to the content of The elder scrolls 3: Morrowind, there's nothing in oblivion.
I got bored of oblivion in a month.
I played Morrowind for over a year and a half.
I dunno, I'm just very disappointed in this game.
ohh and the main quest is horrible.
Go play morrowind's main quest if you think Oblivion's main quest is so good.

Lmao, you eventually end up having to get 1000 dollars worth of stolen items. Just go around and steal from random houses at night. It's easy.

This game is amazing. I can't explain it. It's just that good.

Hahaha, really?
Break into ANYONE'S house.
Doesn't even matter who.
Steal anything and everything.
Cash in.
Go to Imperial Marketplace, best place in the world to steal shit.

oh man i love Oblivion, i've kinds finished a game and am now on my 3rd character cause the first one i made i didnt train in anything so shes basically weak and cant fight which is rubbish for the story line.
Has anyone else got the shivering isles expansion?
Zonda
I have it, but the only reason reason I bought it was for Shadowrend/Duskfang[Dawnfang].
Lovepollution
yeah that is an awesome sword, though i usually go for blunt weapons. I loved the story line with the graymarch and i thought they fitted it in really well with the existing game.

I got one of the small ones a like 200 microsoft point one on xbox live and it was a castle as a home. It is amazing! You have to stop a raid and then you get the deed for it. BUT WATCH OUT!!!! It is way more expensive to furnish than a regular house. But it has an armory and you can train with your own trainer it is awesome. I wANT SHIVERING ISLES SOOO BAD

But Morrowind was boring as fuck.

Morrowind had no compass or fast travel.
Therefore, Oblivion is better.

I agree.
lastfornever
lol compass and fast travel make it boring.
you don't have to listen to anything anyone says, just click "Go Here" and you're done.
That was the fun part of Morrowind, having to adventure, find something new on your way to your objective.
The content in Oblivion lacks so much compared to Morrowind, there are what...five or 6 factions in Oblivion?
There are at least 10 factions you can join and quest through on Morrowind.
I dunno, Oblivion just isn't fun at all. There is no real challenge *block, hit* repeat.
The main quest is absolute crap, close gate after gate weeeeee.
I'll stick with the depth of Morrowind.

I really like Oblivion (my user name and avatar are from it). I've played it a good bit. My main character has 550-600 hours and I have 20 to 30 smaller characters with 30-60 hours on each. If you ever get stuck on anything (not just with Oblivion, but any TES game) the UESP is very helpful.

I think I killed you in one of my many town massacres.

What do I do when I've finished all the quests? (except massacre)

Roleplay, make up your own quests, clear out all dungeons in the game. Also, I don't think you could have killed me during a town massacre, as I'm in the DB sanctuary. Although, you can kill me during a quest.

Ha don't expect an Elder Scrolls 5 for years.
it took them 5 years to between morrowind and oblivion.
so expect it to take even longer this time;]
XxXTylerRockstar
I think Oblivion is a pretty good game, i was playing it on my friends Xbox 360, got my guy to level 26, had Knights of the Nine, Shivering Isles, And the original story line all done, and i was working on getting the Guild Quest lines done, finished the Arena and Dark Brotherhood quest lines, but then my friends stupid Hard drive messed up and he had to get a new one :/

I wish Daedric armor didn't cost so much to repair. I go out questing for a bit, and when i come back into town, I have to pay like 5000 gold.
A Fatal Goodbye
Umm repair it yourself.

1. Repair hammers = cheap as shit.
Better than that, I have no life, so I have 100 armorer, so one hammer does it forever. Just work on it.

2. Buy clothing that is fucking enchanted out the ass. It never needs repair, and a Blue Linen outfit with 45% reflect + some shoes with the same, a necklace, two rings and a shield make for funny times.

3. Just constantly get new armor? Almost every enemy wears it at a certain level, you can kill a marauder bitch and switch your CON 44% armor with her 98%.

Mhm, I shouldn't have been a dumbass and not done armorer from the start. Finally got it up so I can repair all my shit. Took a while.

And I still need to play Morrowind.
