I have recently seeing on the YouTube website that people just love to hate cops, when asked why, they simply say they dont know or they heard things which made them hate them. I find it interesting that people hate the police so much, until something is done to them. Tell me what you guys think about cops and this possible new fad.

Not all sucks that much

I was watching a show about inmates, and I felt bad for the inmates and thought of the cops as the bad guys...
I don't wanna think that way, but I did. >_>

I know one policeman called Bobek..
But police here is worth a shit. Someone I know putted the gun against his head and pulled the trigger. He missed his head somehow..
At the end he didn't go to jail or whatsoever.. That happened few month ago and he's still out somewhere..
Then about 2 years ago, some dude was driving drunk and cops stopped him. They took his driving licence, but of course he went on the road again.
At speed of 115km/h trough the city (limit is 50km/h here) he hit one of my friends. She was in coma for almost 2 years and passed away month ago.
That would never happen in USA!! As I know, if you're driving drunk there you're pretty much fucked up..
That's all because of that cop.
So, yeah.. I hate them.

And I hate our judge system.

Why do you talk like an eight-year-old?

I think truely people have lost their touch on this PC world when it comes to the common stereotype, a brutal or racist police officer. It seems to me that people hold back from saying the n word or any other racist term, and thought that all cops are a certain way is ok to think. When looking back on situations with public, people respected the police and their judgement. If the people wanted dope dealers off of their streets they help the cops be proactive.
Now you cannot get a statement other than "I did not see anything" from the public pertaining to a crime that happened on their doorstep. Then I hear from people, I protect "my people", what is "my people" is that a backwards statement of racist superiority? I consistently hear people not stepping up to help their community but complain when something happens that they dont want, like their friend bootsy getting shot in a drive by or their car getting broken into. Its making more and more police officers turn in their badge because their idea of helping the public by working with the public, commonly known as community oriented policing, doesnt happen. I am going to be a true police officer who works with the public to take care of the problems in the community. If people want cops to help them with their problems dont teach your kids to hate them.
Videos on youtube have been showing police having to deal with kids who skateboard in areas they are not allowed. Then when asked to move on they get mouthy and end up going to jail. I also see many statements "fuck the police", I bet you wont be saying that when something other than a traffic ticket gets you. I hope that people understand, in the PC world we live in, cops are here to help us, no matter if they are giving you 12000 dollars in fines for street racing, or taking your physically abusive boyfriend to jail. If you want your area you live in to become like Los Angeles California, keep up this attitude, and be proactive in hating the police, I can guarantee that your area will become a crime infested shit hole in a matter of no time. If you want to be a mature example to the next generation coming from you, be respectful and proactive in helping the police.

Here in Croatia there are many hooligans espec.in my town. Everybody hates the police here. They bust you for every little thing.
Split is full of drogs and everything.

Can you really compare cops in any other country to the US cops? We are the only country you are innocent until proven guilty, everwhere else its the opposite. When people protest peacefully there really is no problem the police are there to keep peace, then you get people who come in and start stuff with cops and it all breaks loose, for instance, May Protest In LA for Immigration reform, and the Port Of Tacoma Riots. I think that if you are told to leave, why would you stay?

I remember when I was young I was an explorer, which I pretty much did community service and in exchange they gave me hands on law enforcement training. I rode with numerous cops on ride alongs, I figured out that while these guys wore a badge and a gun, they were still humans with familys. Thats what they cared about more than anything was their families. They ensured that they went home safely. I never once met a bad cop, mostly because if you were a bad cop, nobody wanted anything to do with you. Maybe you could say that I was biased torwards police, thats fine, but the cops I knew, ranging from city to county to state, they were all people, who had a job to do.

i have some good reasons to hate the cops here, but i dont... here are some

If you get robbed at night or some sort of illegal activity happens at night they ONLY call in cops from Nowra, which is about an hours drive away, because the cops in my town are to fuckin lazy to do anything. So if there is some really big shootout between some people, our cops wont do fuck all, they will tell you that you have to wait for nowra's cops to come. I remember a house just down the road from me was getting robbed during the robbery the owners called the police, the police said "Ok, we will send a squad car over right away" Took the squad car an hour to get there because it came from Nowra even though there as police at the police station in our town..

another reason is that the cops here are really 2 faced, they are police but they still do illegal things like drink drive (and get caught and dont get the punishment) and they pirate dvds, they give their kids booze.

On the same line as kids boozing, there is some really major parties around this area, and my area of town especially the cops will just drive past even if they see 10 yr olds getting pissed and doing pot. They'll just sit there in their cars and drive off.

My dad (who isnt a cop) was working at someones house when he heard a noise inside, he went inside and noticed all computers, plasma tvs, dvd players and all expensive stuff (up to the value of about $15,000 all up i heard) in one large group in the middle of the house ready to be ransacked that night, then he saw the person who was about to take it all get in their car and drive off, he got their license plate number, gave it to the cops and the cops went to the house and got DNA from cigarette buts and finger prints and stuff to place the guy there and back it up with hard evidence.
He went to court and got a $250 fine.

Theres my reasons why i should dislike the police.

It's childish.

People say they hate cops and call them a bunch of names but still ask for their help in case of emergency. It's been around for a while, but for some reason it's cool to stand up against officers of the law. It makes kids feel powerful.

They're just doing their jobs. It's just a small minority of them that have actually done something for people to dislike them who give bad names to the rest.

I like cops. I'm not saying there aren't asshole cops, but I've never met one.

And they're here to help, so cut them some slack. They get paid fuck all and have to put up with a lot of shit from people.
You don't get that shit in Australia. The cops here are cool, and the kids are more respectful. It probably happens that kids hate the police, but maybe 1/50 kids doesn't like them. And usually because that kid has done something wrong.

No i really don't "hate" them, but i strongly dislike many of them. All of the cops i have met have been nothing but pompous assholes, save for one nice cop. She had some idle talk with me bout a place she would like to retire to and was very sweet. However besides her the others i have met were pretty much uptight and rude( and that isn't part of their job)

I don't really hate them...
But usually they're quite stupid.
