Yes you should if you want the best of both worlds (PC+ Mac). I have both a PC that is fairly new as well as a Mac and I'm getting a Mac Book in a couple of weeks. With the new Leopard operating system, it features a program called Apple Boot Camp which allows you to run both Leopard and Windows XP/Vista on the Mac or Mac book. Meaning software compatibility is no longer an issue, you can keep your Windows OS relatively virus free (with out dishing out $60-100 a year for what ever protection), and also the overall system lasts longer (the list goes on). With my Mac, I've had it about almost for 4 years now and it's a G5 (external Computer separate from the Monitor) and it runs even cleaner and faster to my already slowing PC which i got a year later (plus it's an Hp and they are one of the top brands for running Windows). Plus with PCs the newest and latest brand comes out 2 months later with a few extra options for the same amount of money making you feel ripped off. Mac usually has hardware updates not as often, but when they do it's affordable and can be purchased to be added onto the Mac you own meaning you don't have to by a machine.
Although my opinion (fact/experience based) sounds Biased, you have to take into acount that throughout the past 10 years, I've had 2 PC's and 1 Mac. So far my Mac has outlasted both in years of being usable and my Mac runs the same as the day I bought it pretty much (even with all of the hardcore Adobe and Film programs I have running on it).
You make me want a Mac like really bad...
