10 Things I Hate About Glee

I have been ridiculed, scolded, and hated for my bashing of Glee. But I admit this: I had only seen up to one commercial break of one episode—the pilot—because I had heard so much about it. Alas, I took the time to watch not one but two full episodes of the show. This is my conclusion: 10 Things I Hate About Glee. Let's roll...

1. Glee promotes teen singing-in-public

Singing is great. It’s great when you’re at a party, or in the shower, or alone in your room, or when you’re Cee-Lo Green. It’s not great, however, when it is spontaneous and in public. That does not happen in real life. And if it did, I would be forced to buy some muzzles.

2. It inspires more musicals

By taking (and ruining) some real songs, Glee has forged its way into the hearts of the youth, inspiring filmmakers to produce more musicals, the only thing worse than 3D movies.

3. Glee advocates Gwyneth Paltrow’s singing career

Gwyneth, you’re a great actress, but leave the singing to your husband, Mr. Coldplay. (Aside: nevertheless, she is still a better singer than most of the Glee cast.)

4. Glee brought Dreamgirls back

I shiver just thinking about that movie. But the more I think about it, the two are really similar, actually: melodramatic, annoying, and musical asides.

5. The names are obnoxious

Santana? Mercedes? Pillsbury? Come on, give me a break. Santana is a guitarist, Mercedes is a vehicle, and Pillsbury is just delicious, but these names are just too much for a TV show. What happened to Mary and Joe and John and Jill?

6. It is way too reminiscent of High School Musical

High school. Spontaneous song and dance. Endless stereotypes. In my eyes, the two are the same.

7. It glorifies Justin Bieber

Enemy of real music Justin Bieber is said to have good lyrics and not be as bad as everyone thinks in that “Comeback” episode. What? In what kind of distorted reality are these people living?

8. Jane Lynch

I hate that Jane Lynch is on Glee. Jane Lynch actually has some talent. What is she doing on this show? What are they doing to her? She’s probably being held hostage. This should definitely be investigated.

9. It’s so ridiculously politically correct

Glee producers: I promise that nobody will harm you if not every single race, religion, name, stereotype, and sexual orientation is represented on the show, no harm will come to you! I’m all for equality, but loosen up.

10. Plot?

All character development and no plot line makes me a dull boy. That is perfectly fine when making an indie film, but television should have a continuing plot line (with “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy,” and the like being excused, because they are immaculate).

This show is really just a bunch of vaguely related songs, teenage problems, and sexual tension crammed in forty-minute segments. And that is forty minutes too many.

And come on, there are many shows that are WAY better than this, so why waste the time watching this?
PD: I love how some people say that this show teaches life lessons, that's obviously fake, I swear, high school isn't like that.

i'm a freshman in highschool this year, and i've realized that glee kinda shows this how they are, only super dramatic. things like the things that happen in the club happen in the drama department at my school. if you don't like glee, get off your high horse and let people enjoy it who do like it. also, what's wrong with musicals? they're amazing. it's extremely difficult to dance with super high energy and make that look good, while you try to sing well and act well. if you don't believe me, T

i used to hate glee. i really did. my cousin's choir was the choir that sang on what's his name's laptop. they were supposed to be shown in the show, but they cut it and i didn't get to see her. they even cut the DIRECTOR'S CUT when they showed it as a special. i have realized that the show is completely ridiculous and politically correct, but without that it would be nothing.

I don't think I'll go through any of the things they go through. I have slight ADHD. I HATE most modern day music (katy perry, etc) to hell. I love rock/alternative music, and dubstep/remixes. I don't EVER want to have sex cause I can't anyway. Don't wanna have children. Don't like boys that much. So...yeah, I hate Glee.

Glee sucks!! I hate it SO much!! There's not really a point! It's stupid. I mean seriously. What's funny about sex, love, musical competitions, and bad singing? I hate show with no comedy. Why does everyone like it? And every friggn show they'll say "ok regionals is next week". I MEAN WTH. IT HAPPENS EVERY DAMN WEEK. ITS LAME. I must say although I do not like Glee, I don't mind musicals. And really, the biggest thing I hate about Glee is how obsessed people get over it. I've only seen bits of the first season, and do you really think that telling your boyfriend you're pregnant with his baby, and then going to give it to your teacher's wife who's FAKING A PREGNANCY teaches you anything? NO.

I used to be a gleek, but then I realized it was stupid... I do love music and singing though, and sometimes I do spontaneously sing in public. I've been too 'busy' being in love with System of a Down lately to care about Glee, or any other show, really. I hate all the TV shows on these days- the only ones I actually watch are Beavis and Butthead (so stupid but hilarious), and Gossip Girl (Okay, I'll admit it- this one's a guilty pleasure for sure).

OH, and when I think of "Gleeks" I think of when spit shoots out of your mouth in little sprinkles randomly, not people who are obsessed with Glee. I was kind of angry the first time I heard someone use the word gleek in such a way. If I were to say, "Oh no, I gleeked" someone would immediately think I was talking about that show, when in all reality I actually just spit little trickles all over their shirt. -_-

I think it's firetruckin' hilarious that kids think high school is actually the way they portray it in Glee. Let's get real here. I think that Glee is a terrible, pointless, dumb, show, and that it is EXACTLY like "High School Musical". What ever happened to shows like "Buffy", and "Goosebumps"? That's what I was watching when I was 11. I learned some valuable vampire killing skills back then. TV shows today, along with the kids who watch them, are getting more and more lame every year =P. All u Gleeks come the f@*# down! It's just someone's opinions. I friggin hate ppl who think their opinions are the only right ones and anyone who disagrees can go to hell. And i used to like glee but the plot has become so stupid and pointless and boring. Oh, and the wannabe unique names bug me as well ;)

Excuse me for hatin' on this post, but Glee teaches us life lessons that we need to know. At times, it gets emotional. It prepares us for high school. Some people need to know what to do if like Kurt, and we will encounter Quinns, Santanas, and Rachels. I'm 11, and thanks to Glee, I know how to survive high school. Glee is the best show ever, and if youre gonna hate on it, make a website for Glee haters so you don't get ppl like me who get offended

These aren't very good reasons to hate the show. And it's actually a realistic teen-drama, instead of most of the stupid and unrealistic crap they put out today. And it's not all about cool and popular people, either.
