5 Movie Reboots Coming in 2018
There are a TON of movie reboots in the works for the next few years, but here are the ones you'll officially be seeing in 2018!
The Wolf Man
The Wolf Man is a 1940s classic that got a pretty sh*tty reboot in 2010 that nobody saw. Now Universal is taking a crack at it for 2018, and while they still haven't attached a director, the move is set to be released in late March (though that turnaround sounds preeeettttyy unlikely). The Wolf Man is the story of a man named Larry Talbot, who is a good guy but unfortunately also a werewolf. The story is basic enough, which is why we would love to see someone like Jordan Peele direct it, so he can bring some much-needed humor and more modern, stylized storytelling to the film.
Disney has yet to officially announce this one, but rumor has it that Niki Caro will be directing the live-action Mulan reboot. Honestly, we don't know why this didn't happen years ago, but at least it is. Also, Kevin Hart would be an excellent choice to voice Mushu, don't @ me.
How The Grinch Stole Christmas
Jim Carrey did an amazing job portraying the Grinch in 2000, but the movie itself was kiiiinda meh. That must be why Benedict Cumberbatch has been in called to play the iconic grump in an animated reboot. And let's face it, as much as we love Jim Carey, Bennyboy will be f*cking brilliant in this role.
The Mary Poppins reboot is technically a sequel, but considering it will have an all new cast (minus cameos from Dick Van Dyke and Angela Lansbury), it definitely counts as a reboot. Emily Blunt will play the titular character, and since Emily Blunt is perfect, this reboot-sequel will also be perfect.
There have been a number of basic to sh*tty Peter Pan movies made over the years, with the best undoubtedly being Steven Speilberg's Hook (which doesn't really count). No details have been shared, but Disney is hoping to release the live-action version of the animated classic next year.
