7 Celebs Share Stories From Their First (Normal) Jobs
Everyone without an inheritance has to go through the struggles of a first job, including the most successful people on the planet — celebrities. Check out the following stories of the first jobs of some celebs, from the good to the bad to the totally on brand...
Emma Stone: Dog Biscuit Baker
Before landing her breakout role in Superbad, Emma Stone worked at a dog biscuit bakery when she was 15 years old. She shared some of the most popular dog treats from back in her baking days: "Pop Tarts, but for dogs. And Pupcakes. Then there was a kind of dog Oreo made with carob and honey. A mom would come in and buy them for her kid because she thought dog Oreos were healthier." Trust Emma Stone to have a first job that is actually as adorable as she is.
Nicki Minaj: Server at Red Lobster
Nicki told Billboard that she was fired from her first job as a waitress at Red Lobster for "discourtesy to customers". She explained of the firing, "I chased a customer out of the restaurant once so I could stick my middle finger up at her and demand that she give me my pen back." Kudos to Nicki for being on brand even before she became famous!
Miley Cyrus: Stagehand
Before starring alongside her dad Billy Ray Cyrus, in Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus was put to work cleaning up items her dad's fans threw to him onstage, which was mostly bras and panties. Miley said of the job that paid her just $10 of allowance money, "I'd get a really big one and be like 'Dad! Look I found your biggest fan!" Why do I feel like this explains so much?
Rachel McAdams: McDonald's Server
Rachel worked at McDonald's for three years alongside her brother and her sister, who was also her manager. Apparently Rachel wasn't a good employee, because at one point she "broke the orange juice machine".
Beyonce: Hair Salon Sweeper
Before Beyonce became BEYONCE, she was a young girl growing up in Houston, Texas, where her first job was sweeping up the hair at her mother's hair salon.
Tom Cruise: Bell Hop
Before becoming one of the world's biggest movie stars and Scientology's favorite prisoner, Tom Cruise worked as a hotel bell hop, helping people with their luggage. Tom hasn't shared any cute or funny stories from his luggage-carrying days, but we can assume he was willing to do whatever it took, including his own stunts, in order to make sure people got their luggage to their rooms in a timely and efficient and HIGHLY ENTERTAINING manner.
Megan Fox: Banana
Megan explained to Ellen DeGeneres that her first job was at a smoothie store, where every Friday she had to dress up in a full banana suit in order to promote the store.
