'Anchorman 2' Releases TWO Trailers!
It's funny to think about, since The Avengers is out and made more money again this weekend than even God can dream about, but other films were released in theaters. One of those films, which was, again, shockingly not The Avengers, was The Dictator, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Samuel L. Jackson and Sasha Baren Cohen. And before that film, they played a trailer that most, if not all, of us have been waiting to see since 2004- Anchorman 2 is on its way! All I can say is, Nick Fury had better recruit all the characters for The Avengers after the credits.
Nick Fury should just recruit all characters after the credits.
Yes, the Channel Four Action News Team is back, including David Koechner, Paul Rudd, Steve Carrell, and Will Ferrell. And they are really, you know, standing in front of lights. But hey, they also talk for a minute!
We've also seen a newer, better trailer released through Ferrell's Funny or Die website. It features someone else talking and then the News Team, again, talking.
It's not really fair to hold the trailer's lack of content against it, because principal photography on the film doesn't even begin until February of next year. I'm not even sure the script is finished. I'm not even sure director Adam McKay has a story idea. I'm not sure they have financing. I'm not even sure there's going to be a movie. I'm not even sure there is such thing as movies. I'm not even sure photographs can be viewed one after another in quick succession and imply movement. I'm not even sure light can pass through glass at a specific angle and make a chemical record on a piece of film.
I'm not even sure an explosion of energy caused a small, dense universe
to begin a seemingly unending expansion.
Holy God this is exciting though. Anchorman is one of my favorite movies. One time I showed my then best friend the first Anchorman and did that thing where I tried to enjoy the movie but kept looking over at him to see if he was enjoying it too. Long story short: He didn't, and we're not best friends anymore. I mean, it wasn't because of Anchorman, it was because of all my girlfriends that he slept with and that thing he did to my cat, but not liking Anchorman certainly didn't help matters when I had to decide that night if I was going to go bail him out from prison.
But now he made a bunch of money off Facebook's IPO. I don't know what to make of this story.
