Celebs Get Ready To Die On Twitter

Kim Kardashian rarely if ever misses a day of social networking but later this week she will stop posting on Twitter in an effort to promote AIDS awareness on World AIDS Day.

Kim joins celebrity friends like Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys, and a host of musicians, sports players, and reality TV stars who will bring awareness to World AIDS Day by NOT Tweeting. It's called Digital Life Sacrifice, and the celebs will "die" and not post anything on Facebook or twitter.

The project was organized by singer Alicia Keys on behalf of her charity Keep a Child Alive.

According to the Associated Press, the celebs will remain silent in the social media universe until the charity raises $1 million bucks.

Wait a minute! Hold the phone! So if we don't donate, then Kim Kardashian will stay off Twitter forever? Just some food for thought.

Don't let that keep you from donating to a good cause.

World AIDS day was started on Dec. 1, 1988. According to UNAIDS estimates, 33.3 million people are currently living with HIV and that's no joke. Many of them are children in third world countries that desperately need our help.

What are you doing to celebrate World AIDS Day? You could start by sharing this link with your friends and get the word out!

Instead of doing something so easy in order to 'raise awareness', why don't they give money? They'd hardly cough at a million dollars.

so they want everybody else to donate $1 million? why cant they donate money themselves?

smart idea, but what about something bigger! a better sacrifice instead of just twitter

they'd better give some money to a foundation for aids, they're rich enough, quitting twitter won't stop aids:p

Wow, I hate to sound like a poophead, but who gives a flying cluck? I, personally, will be celebrating Romania's national holiday, Unification day, on December first. So much more relevant.
