Disney Featured an Interracial Lesbian Couple On 'Doc McStuffins'

Disney has just made another big step in the direction of embracing the LGBTQ community by featuring two moms who are a multiracial lesbian couple on their Disney Junior show Doc McStuffins. What's extra cool about the move is that the actors voicing the characters, Wanda Sykes and Portia de Rossi, also identify as gay IRL.

In the episode, the two moms learn from Doc McStuffins how to create an emergency earthquake kit, and their relationship is portrayed as matter of fact.

Disney has previously portrayed same-sex relationships and couples in other shows via male characters, and made history in 2014 with a pair of lesbian moms on Good Luck Charlie.

While groups like One Million Moms has called for a boycott of the show, lots of parents were glad that Disney included a family that looked like theirs.
