'Phantom Menace' Now Number One Grossing Star Wars Movie???

America, you know I love you baby. You make hot dogs and colors that don't run and rock formations with old white men faces better than any other country in this world. But sometimes, baby, you just confuse the sh*t out of me. Like how come you gotta get yourself a a bucket of coffee?

But over the weekend, America, you did something that I just can't wrap my brain around. You guys went and spent enough money on the 3D re-release of Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace to push it past A New Hope and make it the number one domestic grossing Star Wars film of the series. And... it's like... how? How come you did that? We've been through this Episode One business before. It made you sad.

Granted, this is only in total domestic dollars, meaning that when adjusted for inflation, A New Hope is still ahead. But the fact that Episode One has any record over A New Hope makes me angry. Like, I'm even a little upset that Episode One is longer than A New Hope.

It's easy to get riled up about Episode One again because it could have been so good. For me, though, it helps to know that Empire Strikes Back is still there and it's still great. Remember, by putting that in the DVD player and staying home from the theater, you can watch a movie that isn't boring...

I saw the first showing at midnight an d the only thing i was dissapionted about was that i fell asleep at school the next day. Oh and the fact that jar jar binks is still annoying as hell.

I knew what I was getting into when I went to watch it. But the 3D was the best conversion ever done, and the CGI Yoda was better than the puppet. It's better than it used to be. But not great. Plus. a New Hope will make a ton of money in 2015.

I like anything Star Wars and had nothing better to do on Valentine's Day, so I saw it with a friend. It was alright, but I would have enjoyed myself more if the person next to me wouldn't have kept nudging me and asking, "Is that Princess Leah? Is that Luke? What's that? Does she get with him? Where's Darth Vader?' -_- I should've stayed home.

The 3-D was disappointing for me. I was led to believe that when Sebulba crashes his pod, pieces of wreckage would come flying out at you. That never happened. :P However, seeing it on the big screen was pretty amazing, despite the lack of 3-D effects. I think that The Phantom Menace has only become the highest grossing Star Wars movie because of its re-release, and it'll be the same with Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith etc, etc, until they re-release Return of the Jedi, and by then, A

I honestly don't see what everybody's problem is. I'm a die hard starwars fan I grew up watching it. And seeing the phantom menace in 3d I will admit was pretty dissapointing because the 3d wasn't all that good but its still the movie I loved. But to be honest, I kind of cried when the opening credits came on, they were like tears of pure joy

You know what? I like the movie, hell, i like ALL the prequels, I saw red letter media's reviews, he makes good, funny points, but i don't care. furthermore, i don't see why people constantly say it's racist. boring, yeah, at times, flat, theres a reason for that, but the racist card is just out of place. The 3D was fine, it didn't do anything kitschy, the animated Yoda could have been worse, i think the hate is totally out of proportion.

i saw it at the weekend why is everyone saying its bad? it is probably the best in the series because it has a better storyline, the 3D was amazing no matter what you all say. and i really dont understand why you wouldnt like it, the classics were good if anything episode 3 was the worst film and episode one was the best and the original trilogy came somewhere inbetween

I saw it. I'm 12 and don't have a great attention span so I've never watched the movies. I've always liked Star Wars but I'm not a die-hard fan. I've only seen 1 of the movies for god's sake... and that was the remake of The Phantom Menace. I really thought it was great, I don't see why people don't like it. I guess I have to say the worst part was when I had to piss and didn't see the pod race.
