Study: Facebook Makes Girls Easy
Well guys, here's scientific research at it's finest... tackling the deep questions in life like, "What is the most efficient way to get a girl into bed?"
I guess the "F" should stand for more than Facebook.
According to the NY Post, a leading authority in information and sexuality, "Nearly 40 percent of women say that social-networking media, such as text-messaging and Facebook, are causing them to jump into the sack faster with partners than they would have in the past."
Now I don't know if this is true or not but I'm willing to bet that it's totally true. I know that I would happily sleep with any of the dudes that I'm Facebook friends over some total stranger? And that's not just some cheap ploy to get more strangers to follow me on Facebook.
Dr. Belisa Vranich told Shape and Men's Fitness Magazines that, "The texting and all the social networking that's happening . . . creates anticipation. If your goal is to have sex, [texting] is actually helpful for that because it makes the correspondence between people sort of more titillating."
Vranich goes on to say, "It [also] gives the false impression that you've actually been together for a longer amount of time, so it's actually OK to have sex quicker," then she added. "You may have gone out once or twice, but since there's been so much exchange, either in texting or Facebook, it feels longer. It actually feels like its been longer than just two dates."
It makes sense. We feel like we know the people that we are facebook friends. Total strangers become good friends online. "He's an 'online' friend." You know what that means to me? "I don't really know this guy at all."
But for some reason, (perhaps a society becoming more and more isolated by technology,) we are willing to accept online intimacy as if it's real and actual intimacy. It's like we don't want to go out anywhere or hang out with anyone, and yet we're desperate for intimacy.
We're so obsessed with efficiency, and how we can do things faster, Tivo, microwaves, fast passes... That we've gotten dating down to a level of multi-tasking our hanging out time and feel like a few fleeting text messages are equal to actually spending one on one time with another human being.
I'm curious to know if this information is true. Girls, would you sleep with a guy that you know on Facebook, faster than you would sleep with a total stranger? Do you for some reason trust your "Facebook" friends more than you might strust someone you had met at the bank, or the grocery store? I want to know why, splain to me in the comments below.
