Ibet Inyang is a comedy writer and performer, and a walking ball of anxiety. In fact, she spent 12 hours and two bottles of wine trying to decide whether the first sentence of this bio was any good. But she grew up in Huntsville, Texas — a town with more prisons than prospects. And was raised by tough Nigerian immigrants who knew the language, but still thought “artist” was a synonym for “hobo”. She’s always been worried that she wouldn’t “make it”… or that she’ll leave the oven on, and it’ll burn her house down to a crisp. But she’s also always known that she’s funny — best fart joke-teller of her 8th grade class. And she’s now vowed to turn her truth into comedy. She studied at USC’s MFA screenwriting program (for the great education and to prove to her parents that she will not, in fact, be a hobo) and has even created and starred in *SIGH* a comedy web series based on her own battles with anxiety. She still drives all the way home to see if she left the oven on, but now it’s mostly just to leave parties early.
