Call me annoying if you want, but clarified butter doesn't have preservatives. It's butter with the milk solids removed (hence the name Clarified). You make it by melting butter over low heat then skimming the solids from the top. The respondent could be talking about Ghee which is cooked down and has the water evaporated to make it shelf stable. Sorry people who are both officious and incorrect bother me.
